Crap coming out before the SB - NY involved...hmmmmmmmmmmmm

When are the Jets going to get over their jealousy and try to win ON THE FIELD?

Goddammit, can we please just have one dedicated 'crackpot theory' thread? I know everyone thinks they have the conspiracy figured out, but, FFS, can we please focus on the SUPER BOWL that's being played tomorrow for a change?

Errr.... the Boston Herald is a Boston paper and that's where the rumor originated from.

You know what? When all's said and done, if the Pats win today, I wouldn't trade anything that happened this season for anything else. It's been like getting stuck on an awesome ride at Six Flags, only without the puking.

Re: You know it's been a weird season when we're all rooting for Goodell to whup some

I'm starting to like Goodell despite the harsh penalty he imposed on the Patriots earlier in the season. He's not a coddler and is attempting to improve the game, even if I think taking away a 1st round pick was ridiculous (and only done because the Patriots are so good, no chance the Fins lose anything more than a 5th rounder in similar circumstances).

Yeah, I remember how pissed we all were at Goodell back when this happened...now we see that he is actually on our side.

If the good Senator wants a cause to attach himself to, this one would work for me. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/02/01/military.suicides/index.html

I would not mind if we had less military suicides. It seems a tad more important that worring about 1 football team.

Re: You know it's been a weird season when we're all rooting for Goodell to whup some

It's the irony of this whole thing.

The implication of Specter's questioning and everything else is that Gooddell and the leage wanted to do the Patriots a favor by destroying the tapes.

    That's absurd.

In fact, the people most hurt by the NFL not responding directly to the Easterbrook conspiracy theory were the Patriots.

Imagine if it had come out 2 months ago that it was just 6 tapes with one coach waving?

Goodell will be on Mike/Mike (ESPN2) at 9:45.

I agree it's weird we're now rooting for him but he's the one who is now downplaying the whole thing after taking away a 1st round pick. That's just lunacy.

Re: You know it's been a weird season when we're all rooting for Goodell to whup some

ha ha ha...like when SUperman was stuck and those people had to be rescued...not cool

Look, I think you will see Goddell sticking up for NE...i am pretty sure him and the Kraft's are good friends, and he will articulate what was not there.

He has our back and i think we should not worry...he will tell the truth.

...and we will be a stronger organization and fan base coming out the other side.

    Again, this is OUR day....

i wouldn't say he is downplaying it. it's more like he is treating for what it is, a common practice.

Yea but a common practice isn't worth docking a 1st round pick.

Re: You know it's been a weird season when we're all rooting for Goodell to whup some

He did say that he wanted to make the fine stiff enough to dissuade others from doing it, but in that case I think the fine would have sufficed.

    Investigation of spygate--I'm Ready

I'm ready for the complete truth to come out, whatever it is.
I welcome Spector to do all the investigating and questioning publicly that he can.

We have seen the alternative and all this half-assed reporting just isn't helping things, its making it worse.

That said, there is a very important football game to be played today...I'm turning off my TV and radio until 5PM today and I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of this football game. GO PATS!

Re: You know it's been a weird season when we're all rooting for Goodell to whup some

Keep in mind that Goodell and his former employers made this into the Federal case by creating the story and not just escorting the cameraman of the premises like the Pats did the previous year. Goodell wanted to show his power by taking on the Pats and punishing them in an extraordinary manner thereby elevating the crime from the mere rules violation which it is. What Goodell didn't realize is that the whole league is full of those cheating violations and if a through investigation was conducted and people like Belichick who know where there bodies were buried spilled the League would be in trouble. Since then Goodell has quashed any other investigation and is working with the Pats to get the whole thing over with to protect other teams not to benefit the Pats.

    The perfect scenario

Specter was proven to be a fraud, the media (Mike and Mike) are turning against him saying enough is enough time to move on, and the current situation will fire up the Pats to go medieval on the Giants tonight.

I'm all of a sudden feeling much better than an hour ago. BRING IT ON !!!!!
