If you take any importance in what Mel Kiper says, he declared the PAtriots as his day 1 winner.

Even though we went in a different direction than what I thought, I'm pleased with our picks.

There are a lot of good defesive prospect availible on day 2 when we have 7 picks. I do expect that we will trade up in the 4th round.

i think we had a great draft and many people questioned us..why Maroney over LAwson, Holmes and Jackson that early? Well maybe he thinks RB is what we need to get ready for. Why Maroney over Williams? Well Maroney fits better..maybe Patriots saw something in him. Maroney is bigger..Patriots use bigger backs and not too many guys were bigger than Maroney somehow with LenDale being the biggest and Maroney being a good NFL size back. Maroney has versed tougher competition .. hes faster than DeAngelo and has the breakaway speed Williams doesnt. Both can cut on dimes but Maroney came out as the winner for us
