Go away you media whore. What a fraud this clown is. Has he appologized to the Duke kids yet, or how about Mitt Romney?

Rev. Al Sharpton, Sheriff Lee Baca to meet today over Paris Hilton fray

New, 7 a.m. Alleged preferential treatment spurs meeting; heiress being treated in medical ward at downtown L.A.'s Twin Towers jail.

    By City News Service

Paris Hilton's incarceration, reassignment to home detention and return to jail continues to make waves, especially for Sheriff Lee Baca.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, who has accused Baca of giving Hilton preferential treatment, is to meet with the sheriff this afternoon, according to the Sheriff's Department, while former county Board of Supervisors candidate Andrew Ahlering will be downtown seeking signatures in an effort to have Baca recalled from office.

Hilton is now in the medical ward at the Twin Towers jail in downtown Los Angeles. Absent any behavior problems, she is expected to be released by June 26.

    .................

Baca cited a medical condition, though he provided no details. But a source told the New York Daily News in remarks published over the weekend that Hilton -- terrified that guards would snap a cell-phone picture of her on the toilet while she was incarcerated in Lynwood -- didn't eat or drink for three days, which left her facing a life-threatening collapse.

Hilton also suffered from ``extreme claustrophobia" and began hyperventilating, the Daily News reported.

``She cried the entire time, and that wasn't helping the dehydration," the source told the newspaper.

Jail medical officials became concerned that severe dehydration and a buildup of waste and toxins in Hilton's body could cause a complete collapse and ``even kill her," the source told the Daily News.

But City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo objected to the reassignment, and on Friday, Sauer ordered a tearful Hilton back to jail. She is now in the medical section of Twin Towers jail in downtown Los Angeles.

Over the weekend, Sharpton said he believed Hilton was given the star treatment because she is white and rich, and questioned whether a rap star would have been allowed to go home early. He said he wanted to meet with Baca to ensure that all inmates are treated the same.

Sharpton may be a media whore, but it's pretty obvious that Hilton was given special treatment (and probably still is).

I heard on the radio today that the 45 days in jail was extreme. I personally don't know. Never the less, was he at court complaining at any special treatments michael Jackson gets? Shaprton sees a camera and runs. He needs to STFU and go away.

I wonder how most black folks feel about Sharpton -- whether they consider him a righteous crusader or an embarrassment. There's no obligation on the sheriff's behalf to meet with this clown, is there? Why even give him the time of day?

Al Sharpton is wrongly claiming that Paris is given star treatment only because she is white and that a black spioled rotten grandaughter of a hotel-chain billionaire would not have been given the same treatment. Rap stars have no connections in society like Paris Hilton does so the comparison is bogus, cheap, and racist. No one but he could see a racial component to it. It's amazing the media continues to pay attention to this race-baiting POS. Even other black civic leaders stopped short of calling it a racial situation and, instead, referred to it as a class distinction. It's good to hear that from people who refuse to perpetuate the race card jive.

Can never defend Sharpton, but what the Sheriff did allows questions on all levels of the LA Country Gov't.... The Sheriff pulled are real bonehead move, not sure if it was politically motivated or if he did want the liability, but it was a pretty stupid move on his part.

Al Sharpton's whole life and his whole career has been based on "Racism" he is a stinking racist bastard that "USES" the race card every chance he gets (thats how this scum makes his money)

Al Sharpton and that other Con Man fellow racist son of a b!tch Jessie Jackson are worse than than the worst KKK rednecks that ever walked the dirt roads of the old south only these two maggots play the race card so cleverly that the White a$s kissing politically correct dopes don't dare say a word against them for fear of being labled bigots and having their lives ruined.

Sometimes it is a good thing though, no white public figure would dare say it in public but when these Racist Bastards start their "Race Card Crap" it shows the whole country what they really are.

Did Sharpton have a reaction when the Black College Students at Howard University stood on top of the Cafeteria Tables and CHEERED at the OJ Simpson Verdict?

What would happen to the Reverand Billy Graham if he reversed the Race Card and used it as the Rat Sharpton does.

    The Double Standard Is Disgusting.

From what I've read, Sharpton's pretty well respected in the black community, but that's because he takes the side of those who feel the law is applied unequally. In that, he is very consistent. He's wrong a surprising number of times, but the broad issues he fights for are valid.

Many people, especially blacks, think there's still racism in this country --

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/12/12/racism.poll/index.html --

so someone must always be there to ensure that the victim's rights, whether are honored, even if there are legitimate questions. More often than not, white society gets its wrong, but those cases about the hundreds of innocent people we've executed and imprisoned do not get much publicity.

Are you saying Rap stars get the same treatment as Paris Hilton? Are their examples where a sheriff has let them out after just a few days without going through the courts? I don't think it's blatant racism, but certainly her fame is not due to her intellect; her wealth and skin color are contributing factors.

This is how it works Tune. If he refuses to meet with Shank Sharpton, he'll be branded a racist, and Shank will organize protests to get him fired. He'll say the Sherrif doesn't care about black people.

Wow, no way, there is racism in this country?

Thanks for bringing such astute insight to the Paris Hilton, Shank Sharpton discussion. Shank is still a media whore looking to serve himself.

Not surprised that you'd see a racist aspect to this, Patters. Tell me, did you have this thought before Sharpton came out with this? If so, why didn't you say anything about it? You missed my point that she got off because she is a HILTON and the Hiltons happen to be not only white but are entrenched in LA society and are connected to politics and officialdom there very deeply for generations. Few blacks have that type of access to favors even if they're filthy rich because they are new money and don't have the generational political connections. There are few black families that have such generational wealth, and that is a different discussion that we can have in 50 years when the descendants of Bill Cosby, Oprah, and Barak Obama are running around like spoiled rich kids.

My point is that I can never defend Sharpton, but when the sheriff did what he did he did not think through the consequences of his actions, and thus opened a whole **** can of worms. Sharpton jumped on it as he does, in my eyes not well, but he will take any opportunity to do this. Moral of the story if you are in a high position think about the consequences of your actions and what will happen if you do something and who will try to profit from you mistakes. The questioning of the sheriff goes with the turf, and he was probably told to meet with him in his chain of command.

Ask any Cop in this country how many "home boys" and "gang bangers" are driving cars around with no insurance, stolen license plates, no drivers license, numerous driving offenses on their records and many carry no ID at all, most of these people don't even go to court let alone jail, most of the Gang Bangers and Home Boys that are in Jail are Murderers and drug Dealers.

Have you ever heard the little Rat Sharpton mention this fact.

It isn't to hard to figure out why many in the "Black Community" support Sharpton, many also support Louis Farrakhan.

That's my point. That's why I said it's not blatant racism. It's institutional. It's the kind of advantages that white people get because of past racism. There's not a lot we can do about, but it's not unreasonable to demand equal application of the law. The Sheriff can defuse this by providing examples of black people who, in a similar circumstance, were allowed to serve their time at home.

Forget it Wistah, he either won't get it, or does and won't admit it.

Why did Michael Jackson get off? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Are you trying to tell me the kids of famous rich people in LA wouldn't get the same treatment as Paris Hilton? Replace Paris Hilton with Nicole Ritchie and tell me anything is different?

RW, I don't think Sharpton makes any secret about representing black interests, not that he opposes the rights of others. I think you're as unlikely to find Al Sharpton fighting for rights of non-blacks as you are to find Trent Lott fighting for the rights of non-whites.

It's not black and white, it's rich and poor. And there are more poor blacks than whites - and more crime committed by blacks than whites. It's just how it is. And don't blame whitey for that.
