I am not going to get into this again, because , obviously, you really dont understand the gist of these Josh McDaniels posts. No one that I know of has suggested replacing him, not even me. All that has bneen pointed out that there have been a lot of games in which his play calling has been questioned, not just by me, not just in this forum and not just by one sportswriter...it has been questioned on several occasions.
But, that is the nature of the game and, IMO, offensive coordinators are the most noticed of all assistant coaches. Just look at how many oC's , just this season, had either been replaced or demoted.
Their vulnerabilities are front and center for the whole world to see.
Josh McDaniels had a "fair" season, and that is about as far as anyone can go.
You just cant take a stat like PPG and say that an OC did great, or sucked.
You have to look at the whole picture.
And, in many games this season, some of our losses, and even in some of our wins, the play calling was very, very questionable.
A couple of our losses should have been wins if not for questionable play calling, namely the COlts and the Jets games.
And, several of our wins went down to the latter stages of the fourth quarter before our defense iced the games away, because on too many occasions the offense dropped the ball, sometimes on poor execution, and sometimes on poor play calling.
And that is how you determine how good, or how bad, an OC performed over the course of an entire season...and not just by saying, WOW, we scored 24.1 points per game, he is just great.
It doesnt work that way, not at all.
I really did not want to get into another Josh McDaniels discussion, but it seems that whenever one does occur, and not from me, you are always the first one to jump in and criticize, sometimes way too harshly, any poster that doesnt think that Josh was all that great....
He really wasnt all that great, to tell the truth. I did see some improvement in the past few games, and that came about because he finally changed some of the plays he was using and began using others....
He has been far too slow to adjust and make changes. Perhaps he is learning.
But in either case, you should tone down your attacks on fans who are just rtying to make a point on something that you, personally, disagree with. YOu have done this many, many times, and you have personally attacked a lot of posters, myself included, just for having a different view. And that is very, very wrong. Now, I am done, and as I said, I really dont want to get into another Josh McDaniels argument. There are much more important things at hand.
