It was only 30 minutes. Chill. Anyway, I don't know much about McCain and coal but his stupid agreement with the MMGW freaks is one of the reasons I don't like him. We get 57% (or thereabouts) of our electricity for coal, it's not an industry we should be trying to tax out of business.

Do you find yesterdays comments of Obama, which were taken out of context, and the reaction of the right interesting.. in light that this was said on the senate floor???

Re: McCains wants to close down the coal industry..why didn't we know about this soon

What's interesting is how Obama's entire life history has been so microscopically sanitized that we know absolutely nothing about his life in high school and college and grad school, other than the tiny snippets he has allowed us to see ... all cute little photo ops.

What about his penchant for "far left radical" professors in college?? What's the scoop on his affinity for "critical studies, women's politics, and 'black liberation' 'theology'"???

So many questions, so few answers.

Look, everybody already knows everything about McCain. He's a known quantity. Obama has kept his past locked up tighter than the launch codes inside the POTUS football.

Give it a rest with McCain and spill the story on BarackO. The REAL story, not just the sanitized version.

While you are appalled by the half truths posted yesterday, you do not find these comments that are based on fact.. the Congressional Record.. not worthy of comment.

No, I do not. Smoke and mirrors. When push comes to shove John McCain will do what is best for America. Baracko Bama will do what HE believes America should be, according to his Marxist "liberation theology" viewpoint of the the world and America.

McCain is no danger to America; Obama is.

So, there you go: you accuse me of doing precisely what you are doing -- reading biased opinions and accepting them as fact. Do what you will. I've done my job with you: told you the truth. Accept it or not is your choice and your responsibility. Not mine anymore.

Re McCain, one more time real slow: I know John McCain 1000% better than I've been allowed to know Barack Obama (his choice). Obama keeps a lid so tight on his past, you can't get in with a super-computer password buster. But you go ahead and take all his flowery words and grandiose promises to heart. You can hang with him for eternity if you want. Again, your choice, not mine.

If you don't know by now, you never will. It has been stated many times in many places on many formats. I'm sure you've heard it, you just weren't listening.

I just watched a 90-minute piece on "Obama Revealed" on CNN.... It was hardly flattering... So once again, you're dead wrong... Do you ever get tired of being so dead wrong?

Just stop talking. No one likes you here at all.

Re: McCains wants to close down the coal industry..why didn't we know about this soon

by the way, coal is not the panacea people think:

    Coal's Falling "Energy Profit Ratio":

As John Gever explains in his book, Beyond Oil: The Threat to Food and Fuel in Coming Decades, the production of coal will be in energy-loser within a few decades:

. . . the energy profit ratio for coal slips to 20 in 1977, comparable
to that of domestic petroleum. While an energy profit ratio of 20
means that only 5 percent of coal's gross energy is needed to
obtain it, the sharp decline since 1967 is alarming. If it continues
to drop at this rate, the energy profit ratio of coal will slide to 0.5
    by 2040.

In other words, with an EPR of .5, it will take twice as much energy to produce the coal than the coal actually contains. It will thus be of no use to us as an energy source.

Issue of Scale and Environmental Catastrophe:

The environmental consequences of a huge increase in coal production would be truly catastrophic. Caltech physics professor Dr. David Goodstein explains:

We use now about twice as much energy from oil as we do from
coal, so if you wanted to mine enough coal to replace the missing
oil, you’d have to mine it at a much higher rate, not only to
replace the oil, but also because the conversion process to oil is
extremely inefficient. You’d have to mine it at levels at least five
times beyond those we mine now — a coal-mining industry on an
    absolutely unimaginable scale. Source

In his book, Out of Gas:The End of the Oil Age, Dr. Goodstein tells us that a large scale switch to coal could produce such severe global warming that life on planet Earth would cease to exist.
