At noon I believe. Drudge is saying it's not Romney, it could be a woman. I think if McCain picks a White female he will win the election.

[edit] media reporting just before 11am that it's Palin.

Blah, we posted a thread at the same time. I just saw the thing on Romney - Ridge or one of the girls I would guess.

    Little blurb on FoxNews.com :

"FOX News reports Mitt Romney not McCain's VP pick; Minnesota Gov. Pawlenty indicates he's out; speculation centers on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin"

Lots of specualtion on Palin who I like a lot. Interestingly her experience is almost identical to Obamy's (Governor not Senator but similar in length and standing both this job and previous).

    Re: McCain's VP Pick Today

Choosing Palin would win the election for McCain and seal the deal among voters who were Hillary lovers and who didn't want to vote Obama.

Evidently Palin is in Alaska not Ohio. So says ABC, anyway.

McCain couldn't be choosing the pro choice Ridge could he ???

Interesting, John King confirmed it is not Mn. gov.
I do not think a woman secures it for McCain. The VP for both candidates has got to be strong to step in and take over. For both Presidential candidates, a stronger possibility exists for a VP to take over then anytime in the past.

It better not be Lieberman. Look at his actions the past 8 years, he is as hawkish as Cheney is when it comes to the Middle East.

I'm hoping for Palin at this point but my gut says he picks someone he's very comfortable with which would be Ridge or Lieberman :(

    Re: McCain's VP Pick Today

If he picks Lieberman he's retarded. If he picks Ridge he's really gambling. If he picks Palin we all know why. If he picks Romney he's going for the jugular. If he picks Pawlenty he's playing it safe.

Remember, Biden said it wasn't him, even as the secret service was rounding up his family. So a candidate telling us they're not the pick, is meaningless.

This woman is pretty incredible. After reading her bio I would prefer her as President more than I would McCain. For some reason I also get a kick out of the fact that her husband is a sport-winning Eskimo.

Ridge or Lieberman would be horrible picks, those guys are a little too enthusiastic with their trigger fingers when it comes to war in the ME or domestic privacy violations.

If he picks Frog Face Lieberman the Great Messiah will surely be our next President, by a Ronald Reagan landslide.

Re: McCain's VP Pick Today: Sarah Palin

CNBC: Palin Is McCain's VP Pick...
    http://www.cnbc.com/id/26454655

"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a self-styled "hockey mom" who has only been governor for a little over a year, is GOP Presidential candidate John McCain's choice for Vice President, CNBC has learned. According to a Republican strategist, Palin is the nominee, though McCain's campaign has not comfirmed this. With an announcement scheduled in Dayton, Ohio, an associate of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said the governor had been informed he is not McCain's pick. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak for Pawlenty, who had all but ruled himself out."

    Re: McCain's VP Pick Today

The more I think about it, the more she'd be a good choice. I was thinking Romney would be better for his economic experience, but Palin might be more effective at bringing in voters. Hmm... interesting.

    Re: McCain's VP Pick Today

Of course the Democrats would be all over this but in todays political world thats nothing, look at some of the things the Clintons have done and been mixed up in, they get standing ovations wherever they go.
This Palin women belongs in the White House (common sense) America has to keep the Politically Correct Loons at bay.
I think the Lord God will help us--------------:D

I really like Palin, her husband is a blue coaalr guy, she is a solid conservative, great personal story. She will be a nightmare for the dems. I could vote for MCPAin if he selects her for Veep.

    Re: McCain's VP Pick Today

I think I'm in love. This chick sounds a lot like my wife. She even looks like her a little. Great looking woman (both of them).

"...She briefly worked as a sports reporter for local Anchorage television stations while also working as a commercial fisherman with her husband, ... Outside the fishing season, Todd works for BP at an oil field on the North Slope and is a champion snowmobiler, winning the 2000-mile "Iron Dog" race four times. The two eloped shortly after Palin graduated college; when they learned they needed witnesses for the civil ceremony, they recruited two residents from the old-age home down the street. Todd is a Native Yup'ik Eskimo. The Palin family lives in Wasilla, about 40 miles (64 km) north of Anchorage....

    She's a proven liar, though:
"She admits that she used marijuana when it was legal in Alaska, but says that she did not like it..."

I would vote for her for president. Too bad she might connect herself with McCain who is just another bullsh!t artist. He doesn't deserve her.

Well you certainly weren't voting for Obama... I think name recognition will be an issue for her..
