John McCain has been trying to con the American people into believing that he meant Americans in Iraq for a hundred years would be comparable to Americans being in Korea for all these years. That is totally preposterous. First, the Korean War was a United Nations backed action. The war and occupation in Iraq is backed by no one other than the United States and Great Britain. It is not sanctioned, or even recognized as legal, under International law. Then McCain makes a preposterous statement like this one: McCain said: "Maybe 100. As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, that'd be fine with me, and I hope it would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where Al Qaeda is training, recruiting, equipping and motivating people every single day." John McCain truly doesn't understand the differences between the Muslims/Arabs, etc and the North Koreans/Chinese. There is a fundamental desire with Muslims to protect their soil, the soil that they believe is holy to them, and Iraq is part of it. They will kill Americans or any others that they consider to be infidels that are occupying Muslim holy soil. This was not even close to the case in Korea and is not today. The longer we stay in Iraq then the more Americans will be killed even if our forces are reduced in number. History has proven it time and time again. Americans remaining in Iraq in any sort of organized force will always be targets, even after 100 years. McCain and his supporters just don't get it.
