WASHINGTON - Days after he cracked that being rich in the U.S. meant earning at least $5 million a year, Republican presidential candidate John McCain acknowledged that he wasn't sure how many houses he and his wealthy wife actually own.

"I think — I'll have my staff get to you," McCain responded to a question posed by Politico, according to a story Thursday on the publication's Web site. "It's condominiums where — I'll have them get to you." ...

All politicians running for president, including McCain and Obama, live in what I call "John Edwards America".

At least they were not bought for him by convicted felons, like Obama and Hillary's were.

McPain has had his finances held seperate from his wife's to avoid conflicts of interest. He not supposed to be aware of her holdings of real estate. None of the homes are his. They are his wife's investment properties.

McCain's finances are separate because of a prenup between him and Cindy, but I doubt if a prenup or some other arrangement would deny someone from knowing how many houses he and his wife own. The point of this story, of course, is to raise questions about McCain's elitism, as the McCain campaign has tried to do with Obama.

BO's elitism is based primarily on cultural rather than financial reasons, although MCPain did respond to the housing issue with their own ad featuring BO's elitism financially as well as his close relationship with Rezko.

Elitism in the political sense is not about wealth. Elitism politically is all about the attitude that I know what is best for the rest. Having an attitude that reeks of intellectual superiority that translates to them being the one(s) who need to be in power to govern over those of lesser abilities. An eltitist believes they know what is best for society and humanity because they are intellectually superior to the comman man.

You are confusing economic elitism which is more based on society as the rich and super-rich believe themselves to be superior to others and insulate themselves accordingly.

McCain does not act like an eltist at all. He states what he believes in and he states his opinion. His speeches are directed at voters whose votes he wishes to receive. Obama's speeches always portray him as a political savior to the populace ... or as better said by Pelosi "He is the one God has chosen" ... [IMG]

So we've got a guy who can't remember how many houses he & his wife own, versus a guy who owns his house cuz of the help of a convicted felon. Man, I sure am optimistic about the next 4 years I tell ya.

So he married a rich woman. Big deal. I'd take that over someone who IN MY OPINION hates the United States.
