A big problem with this whole fiasco is Senators running for POTUS.. a quick investigation shows where their loyalty lies, to the campaign trail rather than to their constituency that elected them..Tim Johnson, who had a anuerysm, voter more times than McCain.. this change stuff on both sides rings hollow... they obviously were not part of the solution, whatever that may be..read somewhere that McCain has not cast a vote since April..

Good thing for Harry, Snowe and Collins voted 100% of the time.. in RI Jack Reed and Whitehouse were there for about 99% of the time.. Kerry was there 96% of the time.. and Ted Kennedy was out to lunch since 1975...

McCain virtually had the republican nomination sewn up .. so his lack of voting is a disgrace. Sure, he wanted to run nationally very early but he was elected as a Senator and has an obligation to his constituents.

Obama was in a fierce battle with Hillary so he has some excuse I guess. Why can't they get a vote in even if they are not present ... why can't they have a proxy vote for them?

I would like to see some laws made for this ... certain percentage of votes needed or you lose your job ... just like we have to show up ourselves.

It's the way it is. Obam-uh has more days campaigning to be president, than he does in the senate. McLame hasn't been there enough to know where the bathroom is. It's how it works when a pol runs for a higher office. None of them will ever relinquish their lesser position in order to run, cuz if they lose, they got nothing. Sucks if you ask me.
