    the cameras beg to differ

what's unethical? denver is refusing to even discuss a deal with the seahawks...I guess its their right, but like any other situation.....if they want him, they should sign him and if they don't they should deal him and not hold him hostage

don't sweat the ethics....nobody in the NFL does

    No Jersey Selected

To think BB would actually try to pull this off, I would guess you are probably "tanked_as_usual".:D

Why should we help Denver get anything for the player...unless Seattle wants to throw Branch in for our trouble...

Somehow I doubt Florio has this right since while parting with the #6 may not be something Pete wants to do, getting the #6 vs. #14 would not seem to be a dealbreaking goal for a BB disciple in likely the last uncapped rookie contract draft...

And I would think any team signing a player to an offer sheet as an end around risks being stuck with him if something unexpected transpires in the week leading up to the deadline to match. Given this jerks track record, maybe he gets another teamate killed in the interim...

Plus, Kraft isn't going to do a poison pill deal for himself so he's not going to do one to screw with a BB protogee who has played nice with us since departing.

And how would you structure this contract in order to get Marshall to sign the offer sheet WITHOUT costing the Patriots at least $2M in signing bonuses that they would have to pay? [Remember, NFL trades don't involve cash.]

Very creative, Of course you will be torched by the rock star posters who run the Patriots organization on this forum for Bob, but it is a superb idea. It might cost us a pick on the lower end. But.......

I will now get torched. I am applying the lighter fluid as we speak but what if you could get Lofa Tatupu from the Hawks for our trouble? He had a torn pec last year and the kid Hawthorne from TCU they brought in to take his place they love. How does Tatupu and Mayo as your ILB pairing sound?Thoughts from my tormentors?

How about our #22 to Denver for Marshall as you suggest. Trade Marshall and our #53 2nd rounder for Tatupu and their #14. The reason is value. Don't know if the Hawks will give up the equivalent of an added 2nd round pick at #58 in theory (1,100 points for #14 versus 780 for #22. in theory #58 or a second round pick would be 320 points or that difference). Our #22 is worth 780 on the Draft Chart value board. Our #53 is worth 370 for a total of 1,050 (close enough). We have to be enticed to do this by the Hawks, hence Tatupu.

    Summary:
Broncos get #22 in the first-The lose Marshall

Hawks keep their #6 away from the Broncos, get Marshall and get a second round pick #53-They lose #14 and Tatupu

Patriots get #14, and get ILB Tatupu-Patriots lose #22 and #53

The Draft value numbers at the end of the trade are 1,100 from Hawks and 1,050 from the Patriots (close enough). Keep in mind again the difference between #14 that we are getting and #22 is that of pick #58 in the second round. We are losing #53 or five spots difference for Tatupu.

P.S. This adds credibility to the Trade on Bob Kraft and BBs' part from the other owners. Everybody wins. Not just a mercenary exercise to help one Team and hurt the other by the Pats.

If that happened, which it won't, I'd rather just keep Brandon Marshall.

    #75 Jersey

Or do a deal sending Light and a 2nd to Denver for Marshall.

Then send him to the seahawks for #14

Take the best OL player with that pick, say Bulaga, or the defensive side in Spikes and Haden!

But I would cry, sending Marshall to Seattle

Three way trade could be worked out here, but I think everyone in the league would see through the fact that Seattle was avoiding giving up their first-first round pick for him (which calls the whole system a joke since it can be worked around in such a way). It would be more acceptable for the Seahawks to merely work with the Broncos directly on a sign and trade type deal that would essentially send their second-first round pick to Denver-a pick that belonged to them up until last year.

I doubt they need the Pats to make this deal work...

... and who would the Pats want that high anyways?
