Interesting to see how liberals do not engage in the kind of group-think that Republicans engaged in while Bush was ruining our nation. Maxine Waters, like many other liberals, is speaking up and speaking forcefully.

You are correct ... but you are also deflecting ... but I'll run with it.

Absolutely the country would have been better served if the republicans were more open minded. Also absolutely it's nice to see politicians speaking their mind and representing their electorate. Maxine Waters
    gets my approval today.

We may not always be happy with what they say but they are to be applauded when they speak for their electorate whether that be all the way left or right. A congress or a senate all speaking with one voice is dangerous IMO.

Yep......and if Joy Behar, Jane Fonda, Nancy Pelosi, Whoopie Goldberg, Sonia Sotomayor, Rosie O'Donnell, Bernadine Dohrn, Rachel Maddow, Roseanne Barr and Elena Kagan are among them then there really IS a God....and He's just.

Why is ethnic association only a problem -- or so it seems here -- when it's blacks?

Actually if that were the case, Harry wouldn't be anywhere near heaven...he will have gone in the other direction.

    Sure they are.

Do they have a voice? Nope. That is American politics and you know that.

She has two roles. She represents her constituents and also represent African Americans. Perhaps, PR, you never noticed in even this forum, how often certain individuals will post stories about black crimes, thus suggesting that there's a correlation between blacks and certain crime. They do not make that suggestion about whites. White crime is about individuals, while black crime is about blacks. This is the world blacks live in.

They are in many ways defined by whites as being somehow different. The black caucus tries to address that reality. It would be nice if we were all Americans, and perhaps your point would be more convincing if you had made it in the many race based threads posted by certain right-wingers. Why didn't you say then, "Aren't we all Americans" or "all the same"? Why are we all Americans only when a black person speaks on behalf of blacks, but when when a white person judges blacks that apparently is okay. In the future, consider making that same point when someone posts a thread suggesting a negative stereotype to blacks as a group.

I didn't hear a peep from the GOP backers here over the last couple of weeks.

The part that is pathetic is not just the self censorship and cowardice by the CBC, it is that they and their president have followed policies that have crushed 'their people', and the only thing they can come up with are enpty class warfare rhetoric and outdated polices from 78 years ago.

They want to do more of what is crushing 'their people'.

What policies, exactly, are "crushing 'their people' "?

What is pathetic, if you actually believe any of this, is that the Republicans can't manage to better the Dems in attracting the black vote.
