It makes sense if you put it in the perspective of the times. Young black men and women were being sent to fight and die for a country that didn't even allow them to use the same restroom back home.

All that aside his murder had nothing to do with partisanship, none of them do really.

It is hilarious how you make fun of the birthers - a group I have never been associated with, BTW - but then subscribe to every other nutjob conspiracy theory that is out there.

Ahahahaha, i missed this post. You telling Patters that he doesn't know what MLK's message about is hilarious.

So i guess since you love MLK so much, you're against America's war efforts and you're also a democratic socialist? Welcome aboard!

To be quite honest, i'm so surprised you're supportive of redistribution of wealth :D

I forgot to post MLK's 'poor people's campaign' before he got murdered:

Who knew Wolfpack was such a progressive :p

They make fun of the birthers because they can't bring themselves to believe that anybody would have the nerve or dare to question or to doubt "Their Very Own Beautiful Prince Messiah" he truly is "Their Dear Leader, Their Great One"

Will We Ever Know, Will We Ever See The "Real Birth Cerificate" the one that the woman in Hawaii says is locked up in City Hall but they WON"T SHOW IT TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, WHY NOT..........

I'm STILL waiting for you Patters. Are you going to summon the courage to explain what motivated this thread.

    Was it....

    a. Love and Respect for Martin Luther King
    b. Disdain for Americans with conservative principles

Because based upon your thread title, the subject is supposed to be MLK.

You and people like you don't have a choice. You MUST accept all Americans as equally good Americans as well as your neighbors. Just as conservatives also have no choice. No ideology makes one a "BETTER" person, that I can state here as pure FACT.

Just want to point out that PatriotsReign is another progressive socialist who 'loves' MLK and all he stood for (socialism and anti-war pacifism):

Poor People's Campaign - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So does that mean you're a socialist Patriotsreign? After all, you said we should honor his values.

You're just another clueless conservative who wants to latch onto MLK because he's a sacrosanct figure, but in reality, MLK was no different than civil rights leaders like Jesse Jackson, whom i'm SURE you 'love' as much as mlk.

When you grow up and one day possibly remove this pebble from my hand, you may address me. Until then, you don't have a clue. You're just OBSESSED with anti-capitalism like many of our youth. Capitalism is here to stay my child....so I will repeat myself...

"Go get a Che Guevara T-shirt and pout" :D

I followed both Jesse Jackson and MLK before you were even born. I remember Many of MLK's speeches and Jackson's 1988 DNC speech as well. I have never, ever in my life voted for anything other than a democrat for president of the USA...and that means I voted for Barak Obama.

So, continue to believe you can just paint people as being "with or against you". We're all Americans, no matter what our political view. And no view is more valid than the other.

    End of lesson #1

You tell me to go get a che t-shirt, but yet you say:

Which is it PatriotsReign? You either love MLK's courage/leadership/values or you're against socialism.

Edit: also, MLK goes reverend wright on America (listen to the soundclip): http://poorpeoplescampaignppc.org

    Still love him?

You can't have it both ways.

Do you have one iota of rational thought or intelligence phokus? I can respect you and STILL disagree with your views.

Did you actually believe the 2 to be mutually exclusive? Did you?

I voted for Barak Obama AND I was against the health care proposal...so yes, I CAN have it both ways.

Care to comment on the fact that I've never voted for a conservative and have always voted for DEMOCRATS for POTUS?

You kinda left that out....why did you do that?

You're truly revealing your "singular-view" mentality to our members phokus.

What part of "MLK stood against almost everything you stand for" don't you seem to get?

You said you followed MLK and Jesse Jackson before i was even born, but i find it hilarious that it seems like you only heard is the 'i have a dream' sound clip and said to yourself, 'golly gee, i think this mlk guy is just like me! hyuck hyuck hyuck'. Funny how someone like me, who wasn't even born when MLK was alive, knew more about the man than you ever will, because i actually took the time to study his life on my own whereas you have a soundclip view of MLK.

So which is it? MLK was so far to the left that he makes your average Democrat look like Ronald Reagan. MLK actually CALLED FOR SOCIALISM.

Strange. Since when did one have to be in love with socialism to admire MLK?

The man was a great orator, statesman, and American who accomplished a great deal during his life. Why can't people leave it at that?

Martin Luther King went reverend Wright on America? Why because his voice was raised? The two do not belong in the same sentence. Our president has distance himself from Wright. You'll NEVER see him do that with King.

You only hear what you want to hear (listen to the clip again)
