Now they will answer you "it was only a blow job" they will never acknowledge THE LIE TO THE GRAND JURY

A LIE IS A LIE IT MATTERS NOT WHAT THE LIE IS ABOUT---IT'S THE LIE---

It never went that far but he lied under oath which is the same thing. He would have been convicted had a prosecutor taken him to court.

I guess you just answered you own question: "Billy" didn't go to jail because he was not convicted of perjury.

Which brings me back to my original question:

If Martha Stewart was convicted of lying and went to jail, why is Scooter not going to jail??

At least partially because Martha didn't get an inordinate sentence. She got 5 months, I forget what she actually served ? As opposed to 2 1/2 years. I suppose Bush could have cut Scooter back to a couple of months but you'd still be complaining.

Personally I think it affects more people if someone is insider trading that lying about a pseudo covert agent.

You're right, Martha was conviced of similar charges as Scooter was, and was given 5 months (not 30 months like Scooter was sentenced to). When sentenced, she was also under had insider trading charges hanging over her and it probably affected the sentence.

Bush only has the power commute the sentence, not alter or reduce it (I do not believe so anyway). It's likely he saw this for the shame that it was, and said that he should not serve that kind time for this offense since most others convicted are not expected too.

So he kept the convicition and the fine and nuked the jail time.

He pleaded guilty and was disbarred. HE wasn't indicted because he was president.

All of these threads descend into rants and raves about right vs. left, when they are really about politically connected old white men, who are men of privilege even when they are convicted by a jury of their peers. The justice system in the US is broke, reminds me of an old quote I used to see in the Park St. Station, "There is more crime in the suites than on the streets".

Because his sentence was commuted. Why didn't Mark Rich go to jail? The hypocracy of politics drives me insane. My side is outraged at your side for doing the same thing my side does and your side was outraged at my side whem my side did it. But your side is worse:confused: Everyone STFU about this disingenuous outrage.

No one is as f^cking brilliant as you. I think if you're throwing those compliments around to posters that disagree with you then you shouldn't mind receiving them.

We have always had people who are free that some of us thought should be in prison,
(OJ Simpson, Uncle Teddy) I don't think Billy Blue Dress should have gone to prison but he should have been thrown out of the White House for the way he Disgraced that house, he made a mockery of the Oval Office he used it as his own little "Whore House" and shot his semen all over the room that Great Presidents have sat in, he was Trailer Park White Trash, he will forever be nothing but a "Dirty Joke" in America's History books.

There is a good possibilty that this Immoral Whore Monger will once again live in America's White House and if he does he will be calling many of the shots that will affect our country, so be it, the people get what they deserve.

Are you implying he's flamboyant? Or perhaps you are making fun of my dyslexic tendencies that I struggled with throughout my schooling? Either way, that would not be very nice. Remember, we must tolerate ALL SORTS of lifestyles and we must be more understanding of folks with disabilities that are not so fortunate to bless your superior literacy competence. tsk, tsk... Have you no shame....

SAAAAAAAY, wait a minute, aren't you part of that same "party of tolerance". :singing:

get over it, this is the internet, not real I don't know crap about you and do not really care.. the whole thing about the party of tolerance is what it is a right wing talking point that makes no sense in the context of most conversations and makes little here. Try to laugh, every moment is memorable and most of them are too short.
