I just put together a short highlight video of Maroney's time with NE so far, and I've uploaded it to youtube.

Here's the link for anyone interested:

Very cool, fun to watch ! Thanks for taking the time to put that together, especially that little interaction between Dillon and Maroney.

    Good stuff.

Is it too early to start an Official Thread called:

"Whoever the Pats Pick First in 2008 Will Be Coming On To an Already Great Team, Will Not Have an Immediate Impact, and Will Therefore Be a Bust by Week 6"

That can't possibly be Maroney. He was running between the tackles and catching passes and, as all educated Pats fans know, Maroney-the-bust can't do either of those things!

Great to watch as long as you shut the sound off. That's a major noise-track. :D

The guy is averaging 4.7 ypc, and with Sammie back it will be like thunder and lightning.

Anyone who says Maroney is a bust is either a troll or the worst kind of Pats bandwagon fan.

I enjoyed it Sebman. Of course that Cincy game, but also how it took about 4 Panthers to finally drag him down (about 4 min mark), and that great stiff arm. Wow. #33 of the Jets must have got some sense knocked into him. People can hate all they want, it doesn't matter to me, I think Maroney is a stud.

Nope, I'm a big fan of that band, so that song stays :D

A lot of us LB's listen to music like that before the game to get jacked. My boy Zach Thomas used to listen to Morbid Angel before games, which I thought was extremely awsome.

It's kind of funny to think Tommy listens to U2 before games, lol!

(for the U2 fans, I'm not saying they suck, just that I wouldn't listen to them in order to get pumped for the game.)

Background "music" is horrendous. Not bad otherwise. Longer than I expected it would be

Terrible music. Doesn't fit the pace of the clips or anything. Just ruined the mix for me.

Most of the song works, except the double-time parts - makes me want to polka!

Good footage, good edits... but poor musical choice. I'd go with a selection that fits Maroney or fits football more than it fits my own personal tastes... but that's just me. When I think LoMo I don't think guitar rock.

That's not the kind of music I think of when thinking of Maroney, that is true, but I think the music and lyrics featuring "all fired up headed for the promised land", "All fired up doing the best he can", and "hell is for the other man" fit the sport of football.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the music -- all I can hear is Breaking Glass ;)

Well I watched the clip. It didn't show me anything different I didn't already know. Maroney can break the outside run for big gains. That was 85% of his runs in the clips. He had maybe 3 or 4 inside runs total and at least 2 or 3 of them he gained no more than 5 yards. The only "inside run" he broke for a big gainer he had a hole the size of a truck to run through. And there was one inside run where he went forward 5 yards then got planted backwards 5 yards by the tacklers. Not exactly a powerful runner when going inside the tackles. If he gets into the second level he can overpower smallish cornerbacks, but any RB should be able to do that.

Maroney's a good back, he's just not a tough, decisive inside runner. Of course none of this clip shows when Maroney hesistates at the line and loses 2 or 3 yards instead of making his cut and going like say a Joseph Addai.

Well health is certainly a concern since Maroney split his time his entire college career in Minnesota and he has missed at least a few games each year so far. Why not draft another talented back to help carry the load and act as insurance policy? That will also keep him fresh for the playoffs and minimize his wear and tear.

Yup, getting a nice run, then refusing to go down, and it taking 4 Panther defenders to get you down isn't a good run.....
