All the guys who played today did better than Maroney since, you know, Maroney was sitting at home watching the game (keeping Watson's spot on the barcalounger warm.)
All kidding aside, I too noticed that our O-line just can't seem to run block and they've completely tanked since the superbowl. I wonder if that SB42 loss just shattered their confidence. Nonetheless, the Maroney juke and jive wastes precious seconds when the O-line does manage (by intent or luck) to create a lane.
It seems that we haven't been able to run the ball with any attitude or reliability since the Antoine Smiff and Corey Dillon days. It's too bad, b/c I think a productive running game could make Cassel's life a lot easier.
