Manziel's an idiot!

Come on brotha!......"Hopefully Gronk has better decision making skills"?????? Are you serious......this guy makes Donte Stallworth look like Pope Paul the 2nd.....Cripes....seems like yesterday we were watching Gronk on youtube bodyslamming some jackbag at a dance club with a CAST on his freaking multi million dollar CATCHING arm!!!!!! Gronk is a great athlete....rational scholar...he is not.....

No, he's not a Rhodes scholar, but there's still a world of difference between a moment of stupidity like that video and doing drugs.

The folks on NFL Live brought up a scary thought - what if Johnny Foosball runs around like this all year but actually succeeds?

Lawrence Taylor was a mess for most of his career and re-defined the linebacker position. Manziel might succeed for a while, but he's going to have to make complicated decisions at lightning speed that are much tougher than Taylor's prime directive which was to tackle the guy with the ball.

he's not even hiding in a stall.....he doesn't care who sees him.......what cojones!......a man's man........a prince among men

Imo the NFL witch hunt on pot use is misguided and they should change their rules to reflect the reality that pot is not a harmful substance and should not be included in their rules prohibiting drug use, and players have a right to drink as long as they don't do truly stupid sh.t like drink and drive or beat their wives and girlfriends as a result, however when it comes to this photo there is no logical explanation for it other than that he was preparing to snort cocaine or crystal meth and both the Browns and NFL should require him to undergo drug testing immediately, and that's coming from someone who generally doesn't support drug testing. Unlike some of the speculation that questions Manziel's partying this stops just short of showing him snorting the coke and is closer to evidence against Ray Rice going onto an elevator with his conscious fiance and coming off it with her knocked out cold. What an idiot.

Maybe they were out of TP?

Won't work too well as TP rolled up like that!

He was going to have one of his entourage blow a bunch of water through it like a human bidet.

he seems to be the same character as he was when he was with Texas Tech,
Close, DarrylS, very close. You almost got it. Keep trying!

No chance in hell. In college, it is possible to succeed on talent alone. In the NFL, it is not.

You're joking right?

On the flipside to thread title, who's actually the idiot:

Maziel for making himself worth millions at age 22(?)

or

The Cleveland Browns for making him that millionaire?

The Brown's, and every other team, knew what he was about before the draft. Nobody should be surprised.

in all seriousness, he better get his act together because coke and booze while trying to learn how to be a QB in the modern nfl dont mix.......especially at 5-11 200 or so....and he doesnt even look that heavy...he better learn the playbook and learn to read defenses.....running around and playing sandlot football will eventually get him squashed by a 250+ lb guy whose even faster than him.....but his family has money, so maybe he just doesnt care, since he'll never go broke

Perception is reality

Everybody is looking at Manziel. If there was a Public Relations 101 class at Texas A&M - he flunked.

If the Browns start something like 1-3, it's going to be an interesting read of Manziel's stock then...the rookie may already be stamped a has-been or never-was.

Like I mentioned in another thread, when you play the likes of the Raven, Steeler, and Bengal defenses in almost 1/2 of your games, you're placing a pretty large target on your back as it is.

I'm guessing that there are going to be some brutal hits on this guy throughout the season. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out.

Unfortunately, this is a typical Cleveland pick. They were going for it, but they got struck out too many times.

All of the above. Just because Manziel made himself worth millions off of his athletic ability does not mean he isn't an idiot. As for the Browns, well, we have about a decade of evidence supporting that conclusion.

I have no idea whether Manziel is an idiot or a moron or any of the other labels assigned to him here. More likely he is spoiled, self-entitled, terrifically immature and painfully insecure kid. Some (likely most) 18-21 year olds are ill-equipped to deal with the level of fame, attention and scrutiny Manziel has encountered since he went to college. The big money contract just adds fuel to the fire.

Let's not forget that we are talking about a human being. After a lifetime of coddling by his negligent parents, coaches at every level, boosters, the press and numerous sychophants, he's now going to have to grow up - in a hurry. Hope he can do so before he turns into another Art Schlicter, Todd Marinovich or Ryan Leaf.
