Manning did fine without Harrison... so why can't we do fine without Moss?

Because Manning has a defense to back him up if his offense fails..thats why

Seems to me it was Brady FORCING the ball to Moss as he ignored the open recievers that cost them the Jets game this year, the Miami game last year et al.

The development of our youngsters on offense just got a boost...more PT and ,like another poster said , no more TB locking in on Randy.

Randy had ZERO catches in the win in Miami. Did he quit on the team, probably not 100%...but if you're just going thru the motions, the other young players will pick up bad habits with you as a mentor....

Thanks for the first couple of years Randy...have fun with Favre

Do either of you (previous two posters) trust anyone else on the roster to run up the seam and grab an over the shoulder pass one handed for a TD vs a top 3 corner? We had a freak of nature and even if he was just playing decoy most of the game, he could make some catches only 2 or 3 guys who ever played the game could catch. I'm hoping the scheme adjustment after this trade is dramatic. The opposing team's top CB will now be on a much less player who I doubt will be doubled as much as Moss was, now freeing up a saftey.
The scheme will not change. For four games it has been two TEs more than 3 WRs. That won't change.

Besides, you act like Moss is the only WR ever to be doubled. ANY WR running deep and fast needs to be doubled, one on top or one underneath. Moss commands more attention and is ALWAYS doubled, but most of the time Tate and/or Taylor will be doubled running down the field. If single covered, the Pats will note whether the DB is over or under him and pass accordingly.

When you get a guy as fast as Tate running full speed down the sideline, you NEED a guy over him to prevent a TD, and a guy under him for under throws. The ONLY way to prevent this without doubling is not giving the QB time enough for the WR to get downfield.

Everyone who is saying we won't be able to pass to Welker and TEs without Moss must be the same guys who said Brady won't have time to pass without Mankins.

Moss is great. No doubt. But spreading the ball works too. Brady had PLENTY of room to pass underneath when our deep threats were Troy Brown and David Patten, and we had NO ONE as good as Welker or Edelman or Hernandez to run 5-15 yard patterns.

But feel free to dodge those pieces of sky falling.

Because...

Manning >>>>> Brady

Kyle Orton and Phillip Rivers will suck without Brandon Marshall and Vincent Jackson.
