He hung on through camp. He was behind Dennard and Ryan, but still hung on. When Dennard had his struggles, he moved up the ladder. When we saw more struggles early today, he stepped in. He tipped that pass that Kearse came up with, and then he made the game saver.
Great job by Malcolm, and it's great that he's got a lifelong memory out of the season because his tenacity paid off for him.
To quote Teddy Bruschi after he ripped the ball out of a runner's hands when the Pats beat the Colts in the Playoffs in Foxboro, he "wanted it more than the other guy."Butler moved that guy right of the way to grab that ball.
If everything I've seen is accurate, Butler played 18 defensive snaps (all in the second half), had 1 INT and 3 passes defensed, and made 3 tackles (I don't know whether they're all for catches made on him).
that crazy bobble catch at the end was on butler, but he had perfect coverage...lol. thank god we won
