Patriots trade 22, 53, and 229 (7th) to Titans for 16, 77 (3rd), and 148 (5th)
I'd like to get McClain too but I don't know if its worth getting ahead of the NYG at 15 or even Denver at 11. Paul-Pierre's stock seems more volatile (I've seen reasonable mocks with him going anywhere from 6 to 19). At 16, I feel his upside and motor make his lack of experience worth the risk if he drops. Giving up 53 is tough but getting back 77 makes it easier, as it fills the dreaded "hole" in the draft that BB has discussed in the past about trying to avoid.
DOWN to 34: Ricky Sapp, OLB, Clemson
Patriots trade 22 and 119 (4th) to Lions for 34, 66, and 214 (7th). Lions select USC OT Charles Brown after drafting Suh at #2. Gives Patriots 5 picks between 34-66 and given the depth of the draft, could allow them to get 5 players with first-round grades). Sapp is my favorite 3-4 OLB after JPP but the consensus seems to be that he is a late-first/early 2nd round guy at best.
Golden Tate at #28 with a trade with the Chargers. #22 for #28 and #92. The pats get a 3rd round pick and rob the Jets of Tate who pick at #29.
