They're just hiding it behind the "public option" :

Breitbart.tv Uncovered Video: Obama Explains How His Health Care Plan Will ‘Eliminate’ Private Insurance

This is why they won't do the smaller, incremental changes of enhanced coverage for the poor and cutting costs where possible. They want to get a virus in the system that will eliminate the current system without admitting it.

    And, btw, in England :

Patients forced to live in agony after NHS refuses to pay for painkilling injections - Telegraph

"Tens of thousands with chronic back pain will be forced to live in agony after a decision to slash the number of painkilling injections issued on the NHS, doctors have warned."

If this filthy ungodly Obama health care sh!t gets anywhere near to becoming a reality the people should take to the streets and fight this Socialist Obama Bastard and his gang of Grinning Left Wing Pigs to the death.

AMERICA HAS THE GREATEST HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD POOR PEOPLE WHO ARE OUT OF WORK AND ARE BEING SUPPORTED BY THE GOVERNMENT HAVE JUST AS GOOD MEDICAL AND DENTAL COVERAGE AS DONALD TRUMP HAS.

AUNT ZUCCHINI GETS BETTER HEALTH CARE THAN I DO AND SHE'S AN ILLEGAL ALIEN

SMARTEN UP YOU F-CKING SAPS DON'T LET YOUR FAWNING ADORATION FOR THIS SOCIALIST DICTATOR OBAMA DESTROY YOUR FAMILY'S HEALTH

    good.

Single payer is the best way to go. I'd love it.

Love how fools stick up for wall street bureaucrats who you overpay to make medical decisions based on profits and stock prices, that can only go up by denial of coverage, and increased premiums. Then try and scare you with "government bureaucrats"....Who the flunk do you think is running your healthcare NOW? A doctor???? get real.

Great buisness model when dealing with widjets, not human beings.

Get the profit OUT of insurers, and put it BACK into the doctors, hospitals and general care for fellow americans.

+1. If the police were run by a private corporation you'd have right wing idiots in here parroting the propaganda that government should stay out of the policing business. Anytime megacorporations hijack a cash cow like this you're bound to have a bunch of lemmings running falling for their campaign. It's sad that people can't think for themselves.

Some things shouldn't be run by profit motives, healthcare is one of them and the U.S.' system is a prime example of why.

We already have it for Medicare and obama admits it's the biggest financial problem we have. So . . . let's make it bigger. Good plan.

Single payer would have the same problem, just replace "profit" with "affordability". You will still get turned down for things you want but instead of it being for "profit" it will be because it's not "affordable".

However if I'm dissatisfied with the decisions my insurance company makes I can change insurers. If I'm dissatisfied with the government's decision - I'm S.O.L.

I think thats the best way to go.

Want a model for each of our plans? Look no further than the rest of the known world for examples of a single payer system. I don't see ANY of these nations calling for namdated private care. Would you like to present me with one?

Look no futher than the record profits for our nations current iunsureres, and our 34th world ranking in healthcare. Oh, and we ar ealso the most expensive. Lets see.....we pay the most, get the 34th best coverage, and our middle man is raking in profits???

    Hmmmm.....

I know you are not this stupid, BF.

And you can look at the percentage of Americans who are happy with their healthcare. The polls that say "do you want reform" aren't valid because any question of "do you want to make something better" will get lots of yes votes. But when asked "are you happy with your healthcare" the vast majority say yes. Which is why we should try to solve the problems of 1) the uninsured working poor and 2) costs where appropriate, instead of tearing down the whole system.

As for other countries wanting to switch to our system, I have no idea but it's moot because there, like it would be here, once the government gets it's paws in it there's no going back.

Well of course, it's been mostly handled by people who want to see it fail.

GOP: Government doesn't work! Let's slash FEMA, put incompetents in charge and stick it in DHS.

    ----Katrina disaster-----

GOP: You see! Government doesn't work!

People are generally satisfied with "HEALTHCARE". People generally like their doctors, etc. Its like asking a state if they loke their senators, most say yes. But ask them if they like congress, and most take a pee on it.

ask them if they are satisfied with the "COVERAGE" their insurer is providing.

we FAR too often confuse our relationship with hospitals and doctors, with the company providing insurance. We lump them all in with the word "Healthcare" but that really isn't the case. Our Healthcare could be more efficiant, and less expensive for sure. Our Health COVERAGE is run by profit seeking wall street traders, CEOs, and stockholders...concerned with one thing...THE BOTTOM LINE.

    ask yourself this:

"Is my healthcare provider happiest when I am healthy or they are wealthy?"

Where is this ranking from? I call BS. We have one of the best healthcare systems in the world. Sure, it has some problems, but others are a whole lot worse. Remember, we still have many of the best doctor's in the world. Prospective doctors come from all over the world to train here. People from Canada, England, and other countries with socialized medicine come to America to get the complex procedures done, not the other way around. We make incredible advances in science and procedures every year. In England, if you tear your ACL, it could take up to 6 months to get an MRI. If you are over 60 and lose your Kidneys, you will not be put on the transplant list, and you can be denied Dialysis. It's a form of Euthenasia, and it's happening all the time over there.

Medicare is going bankrupt, and the only reason it isn't completely bankrupt at this point is health care providers are only re-imbursed a small % of what they actually do. The organization I work for receives 39 cents for every dollar of care we provide to a Medicare patient. Social Security will be bankrupt within 20 years. We are trillions in the hole, and going deeper in debt every year. Actually, can you name 1 program that the government runs well? Why would you ever want to have it taken over healthcare when it has failed everywhere else?
