Interesting thing happened at the GOP presidential debate. The candidates were asked if any of them didn't believe in evolution, and Sam Brownback, Tom Tancredo, and Mike Huckabee raised their hands. Are these candiates saying they don't agree that evolution exists at all, or just that it's not responsible for humans and other advanced species? Are there people who don't believe that evolution happens at all?

People who deny evolution are just stupid. As you said, whether it's responsible for the development of people from single cells is a totally different argument - but organisms clearly evolve.

The people who raised their hands probably do not believe in evolution at all and most likely do not because they are the religious radicals of the bunch. To them, evolution is inconsistent with creation and therefore cannot be believed. It is also likely that they dont understand evolution and therefore cannot grasp the concept given the flawed interpretation of it that christian indoctrination has provided them with.

OTOH, Dinosaurs and man coexisting in the garden of eden is believable to these people. These people offer nothing to our progressive society and dont have a snowballs chance in hell of getting the nomination.
