A friend of mine works with the relief cleanup, he says we have 2-3 days, until the problem becomes much worse. He was around redfish bend, south east of N.O. and told me no matter what they cleaned up, wave after wave of petroleum was now coming in, so they couldn't stop it all. just FYI, we need you.

Really nice resource provided by google. If you check the "Oil Spill Forecast - 72 hours", it looks as if the gulf current and winds are moving a large oil slick toward Pensacola at the moment.

Thanks Leave No Doubt, I looked over most of this. This is crazy, we can not deal with this its to big. I mean they are shutting down the offshore oils rigs and so the companies are starting to move them. We have no fishing or tourism anymore, this is like telling Detroit to stop making cars for 6 months. We have you, I know that will be enough, we have nothing else to believe in. This is going to hurt. Its not only that we must be humiliated again and show America that we can not help ourselves and must ask for help, its the fact that we love these animals so much, there is no choice in the asking anymore. We must humiliate ourselves to do whats right, they've given us no choice.

If I lived there I'd be most concerned about those supposed evacuation plans and the arrival of troops and your old friend FEMA.

At this point, I'm really starting to believe we might have to be evacuated, I never thought about the fumes, it never occurred to me really. People are starting to smell the oil in some parts of the City, like in Metairie and along route 90.

Its worse than they are showing because BP will not let journalist in the area This oil has killed almost all life on the 40- 50 miles of shoreline it has come in contact with in Louisiana so far, we have dead zones already, literally nothing living.

I don't think people are being told that the animals can only live a couple hours after they are effected by the oil, and the marsh will probably die in days after contact. Marsh will soak up oil like straw, you'll never get it out.
If the oil gets to it, its a done deal.

This tracks where the oil really is, but this is just what the people and authorities have witnessed and is confirmed. We dont know who's cleaning it up.
    Oil Spill Crisis Map

There are massive reports of the booms failing and BP not having enough man power to support the small amount they have deployed incorrectly, but they are not working, its a million dollar failure.

I wish I wasn't being annoying or forcing this issue or doing it for shellfish reasons, but I am. It doesn't belong to me, it belongs to you, and I want people to care even if they don't, because we only have one shot at this, and its non refundable.

    thanks Patriot

Not good, I'm very sorry to hear that. And if it's that bad (only to get worse) will the people ever be able to go back? It doesn't sound positive :( I'd do whatever I had to so that I never ended up in another Superdome.

New Orleans and its Gulf coast are one of the most beautiful, strange, and diverse places in the world. In fact there used to be a settlement of Filipinos on a place called manilaville on the coast, first asian settlement in america. Racism and being rude to same sex people don't fly here. Southern hostility is still in full force, and a deep respect for a persons personal business is a way of life. This city is as fragile as the wetlands, that we actually live in the middle of. Its all around you all day. Its a strange place. We will always be back. Once you've lived here its very hard to leave, people are so personable and genuinely care about you, the food, the music, the beaches, its great.

Like the dumb birds we love, lol, we will always migrate right back into the oil.

I think we were dumb founded by katrina as much as this is dumb founding us, we are kind of like children when it comes to be treaded this way, because its not in our genes to treat people this way.

and I had about six friends of mine call me, its getting bad now. Ill try to get my friends to upload pictures.
