Well Harry based on the kids reaction to it this act of heroism didn't come too soon.

They knew! :eek:It's obvious the far right has succeeded in indoctrinating these kids....victims really, into their warped religious ceremonies designed to control thought. I just hope it isn't too late. Next thing you know they'll be looking under the holiday tree in December..........for,.....for..... Christmas presents:eek: Then who knows, some of them may actually become.......Republicans!

I think it's somewhat silly, yeah....and the words "Spring Spheres" isn't a very good phrase. Egg hunt would suffice without an identifier.

Having been raised a Catholic I'm very comfortable with the whole "easter egg/christmas tree" concepts - having come lately to another religion which does not believe in easter or christmas I'm less comfortable with it.

Had I had my children earlier in life, with a different spouse and in a different religion, they would not have been the kids right in the thick of the easter egg hunt or sitting on Santa's lap -they would have been the kids that other kids made fun of and the kids who were left out of the majority of holiday celebrations.

While I did not have those children, I feel for those children - and for their parents.

I'm big enough to want my kids to share their holiday parties and their social situations with all of their fellow Americans - and if it means that I can help them do so by calling Easter Eggs by another name and by saying "Happy Holidays," instead of "Merry Christmas," then I don't have a problem doing so.

You know what would be even better than 'egg hunt'? Easter Egg hunt, after all thats how it started, thats why kids are out there looking for the eggs in the first place.

That's fine, whatever. If Christians don't mind their good little Christian children being the only ones out there hunting down a pagan fertility symbol I sure don't care.

Easter is named for a Saxon goddess who was known by the names of Oestre or Eastre, and in Germany by the name of Ostara. She is a goddess of the dawn and the spring, and her name derives from words for dawn, the shining light arising from the east. Our words for the "female hormone" estrogen derives from her name.

Ostara was, of course, a fertility goddess. Bringing in the end of winter, with the days brighter and growing longer after the vernal equinox, Ostara had a passion for new life. Her presence was felt in the flowering of plants and the birth of babies, both animal and human. The rabbit (well known for its propensity for rapid reproduction) was her sacred animal.

Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny both featured in the spring festivals of Ostara, which were initially held during the feasts of the goddess Ishtar | Inanna. Eggs are an obvious symbol of fertility, and the newborn chicks an adorable representation of new growth. Brightly colored eggs, chicks, and bunnies were all used at festival time to express appreciation for Ostara's gift of abundance.

Easter history : holiday traditions and their origins, from the goddess Ishtar (Inanna)to the Easter Bunny.

I wonder if this "moonbat teacher" thats trying to screw up Easter Eggs would have the balls to try and change "Muslim Punishment" stoning, beheading, amputation, suicide bombing etc all done in the name of their God.

This teacher better not f-ck with Islams Easter Eggs :singing:

That's the point, Harry. You'd have a stroke if public school children were being taught to celebrate anything at all which concerned Muslim traditions or Jewish traditions or Buddhist traditions - but they don't.

Teachers can't f-ck with that which does not exist.

Wouldn't bother me at all as long as The Jesus kids were also included.
