London Trip - 10/25/09

I heard rumblings that some of the Boston radio stations might have Patriots parties at the stadium or on Saturday. Has anyone heard of any parties?

The only party that's worth mentioning is the official Patriots pre-game party hosted by the UKPatriots.

If you want to come along please follow the details at the end of this message.

Thanks

James

The UKPatriots is the first, and most recognised, of the officially registered fan clubs of the New England Patriots.

We are delighted to annouce details of a fantastic Patriots-themed pre-game party that we have arranged for the evening of Saturday 25th October. The party has been arranged with the help of the New England Patriots front office. No serious Pats fan will want to miss it .. We will be joined by Pat Patriot, several of the Patriots Cheerleaders, the editorial staff of PFW and maybe even a surprise guest or two !

The party will be held at the Sports Cafe on Haymarket between 6pm-10pm, and entry will be by ticket only. The venue will be closed to the general public between these times.

There is a small charge for tickets, but will include a finger buffet and entry into a raffle for some fantastic prizes donated by the New England Patriots (unfortunately a date with a cheerleader is not one of them).

Tickets for anyone based in the UK are available to purchase in advance at £6.50 (£7.50 on the door). Overseas visitors may also pre-book for collection at the door.

For further information, or to apply for tickets, please drop an email to the following address : Tickets @ UKPatriots.com

So that we can deal with your request more easily, please send your mail with one of the following titles:

This will be a great opportunity for Pats fans across the UK to not only meet each other, but also many visiting fans travelling over the pond from Beantown. It is THE place to be for all Pats fans on the night before the big game.

Thanks for the information. I sent the email, and hopefully we will see you there.

Saturday night Patriots Party - London - FAQ

In response to the many questions we have been asked, please find an FAQ below. To apply for tickets, please use the email address in the announcement post earlier in this thread.

Is it Patriots colours only ?

Almost .. Red Sox will be allowed of course. BC Eagles maybe. No other NFL team and no soccer team please. And absolutely NO NYY caps - You will be escorted round the corner and thrown into the Trafalgar Square fountains!

How many tickets are for sale? What are the chances of the event selling out?
There are approx. 500 tickets. We expect it to be a sell-out.
We have pre-sold 100 to UKPatriots members.
We have another 100 available for pre-purchase in the UK.
We are expecting one tour organiser from Boston to take around 200.
That leaves a further 100 which may be reserved for collection/payment at the door.

If I am travelling from the US, how will I get my tickets?
You will need to reserve tickets in advance. There will be a "will call" facility at the venue for you to collect and pay for your tickets.

How is payment to be made , do you accept paypal ?
Sorry, but no paypal this time. Cash only on the door.

If I apply for tickets how soon before I know if I have been successful ?
We've only just annouced this, so any of the early ticket applications will be OK so far. You will receive an email confirmation together with details of how to collect tickets.

My son is travelling from the US with me. He's 13. Can I get a ticket for him?

We have some very limited space for under-18s, and some very stringent conditions:
We have 6 "family tables" available.
Any u-18s must be pre-registered with us, and accompanied by their parent/guardian.
If successful, you will be allocated one of the family tables (you may have to share).
The children must stay seated at the table.
You must arrive before 6:30pm, or you will lose your table.
You must leave when our booking expires at 10pm.

Can I pay in USD?
Yes, it's $10. It's £7.50 sterling, which is not quite as good as our USD price, but it's easier for us to handle at the door than £6.50 (approx exchange rate).

Do you take Credit Cards?
Not for tickets, no. It will be CASH ONLY at the door. The bar will take credit cards for payment for dricks/food.

Will Pats merchandise be available to purchase on the night ?
We are waiting to hear from the Patriots whether or not they will bring anything from the Pro Shop.
We will have a limited number of UKPatriots commemorative T-shirts going for a tenner (£10).
There will be some great Pats Merchandise as raffle prizes. Your ticket will provide you with an automatic entry into the raffle, but you will also be able to buy further raffle tickets on the night.

Do I need ID ?
We are advising EVERYBODY to bring photo-id with them. This is for proof of age (under-18s are only admitted if pre-booked with their parents), and is also necessary for anybody collecting pre-booked tickets at the door. However, we don't want anybody to lose their passport, so photocopies will be fine for ticket collection.
The bar owner will require original ID documents for proof-of-age. The legal drinking age in the UK is 18, but most bars in London ask for ID if you appear under 25.

Is there a registration deadline ?

Yes. We will be too busy in the days running up to the game to take reservations, so please reserve your tickets before Wedensday 21st Oct. After that, we won't be able to accept any more registrations. You'll have to wait and take your chances at the door.

When can I collect them ?
You can collect tickets at the Sports Cafe at the following times:
Friday 23rd: 4pm – 7pm
Saturday 24th: 3pm-6pm.
Any tickets not collected will go on public sale after 6pm Saturday.

Where exactly is the Sports Cafe?
80 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4TE
Nearest tubes: Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross, Leicester Sq.
Website: My post count won't allow me to post it, but you can work it out I'm sure : thesportscafe .net

We've been inundated with requests for the party, particularly since the announcement on Patriots.com so if you'd like to come to the party I'd recommend getting your application in ASAP.

Thanks

James
