Santonio Holmes of New York Jets ends practice early, felt overused - ESPN New York

Expect Holmes and Sanchez to go on another date to a Yankees' game really soon to show how much they love each other.

He'd better be careful. Chad (I can sell PSLs) Ochocinco is available.

Let's remember, in 2010 the Steelers offered to trade Holmes for the best offer. The Jets were the only team out of 31 that would give up anything for him.

For a young receiver, SB MVP, with elite talent, that should tell you something, especially considering he was cheap salary-wise back then.

Holmes is quite the diva for a WR who isn't all that great in the first place.

    From PFT:

Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports that Holmes was “disgusted” and “bothered” today when he felt that the Jets’ coaches were working him too hard, that Holmes “staged a mini-meltdown” and that he “exchanged words with receivers coach Sanjay Lal.”

After the practice session, Holmes confirmed that he thought the coaches were asking too much of him and that he wanted to ease back into things after missing much of the Jets’ voluntary offseason work while visiting an Air Force base in Germany.

“I was talking to the coach, letting him understand it was too many reps today,” Holmes said.

Let's hope Holmes lights up a big blunt tonight to calm his angst, then gets a mad case of the munchies and is pulled over speeding to 7-11.

According to a tweet I read yesterday (I think it was Rapsheet), Holmes thought 35 snaps was overworked!

I'd do 35 snaps! It's not hard! Tool!

Holmes has a 50 million dollar contract and is overtaxed running 25 OTA reps, without pads and with no hitting whatsoever. Way to be dedicated to your craft, Santonio!!

    Yo, Santonio.

A kid standing on his feet for eight hours flipping burgers at Mickey D's to help his family pay the bills works harder than you have to work in a no-pads, no-contact OTA on a mild June day. In fact he'd kill to trade places with you, you humanly useless piece of dreck.

    No Jersey Selected

Here's the nightmare scenario. Tebow to Chad Johnson for the game winning score at Foxboro.

OK, I can't see it either, but you have to admit it it hypothetically possible.

If fairness to Santurdio, 35 snaps with the Jets' offense can be taxing. Let's break down the plays:

10 plays - Playing the decoy in the option with Tebow
15 plays - Run blocking for the Jets' mediocre RBs
10 plays -Sanchez overthrowing his receivers

If I was Holmes, I'd be frustrated too.

Cimini also reported that the Jets offense was completely dominated by the defense yesterday. Both Sanchez and Tebow looked uncomfortable with the blitzing. In Cimini's words, they looked "terrible". In Barkley's words, they looked "turrible".

I don't buy into OTA reports so I can't crow about that. It is good that they look like crap, but it is a new offense that they are learning.

The one thing that is a potential concern for the Jets is that these OTAs favor the offense since there are no pads or contact. Usually, the offense outshines the defense in these practices.

    Watch out, Kontra.

You're in danger of putting the old double-whammy, reverse, over the head, between the legs, flipadoodle backwards double twist curse with a somersault finish on the Patriots there.

The whole point of the offseason is for the Jets to act and play from April to June like they're going to win the SuperBowl and then fall apart when Training Camp and the season begin.

But, if they stink now, that might alter the very nature of the universe and give them a chance to be good in the fall.

I want to hear nothing but "Super Bowl Quality Practice and Teamwork" comments from the New York media and from Wrecks and the Sanchise this month!

Brand new offense, same defense. The defense had better dominate early. If it doesn't, the Jets might as well call off their season.
