So far everything I've read about Brandon Lloyd is that he's on the same page as Brady already. It reminds me of Randy actually. There was never any doubt that he belonged, and I see nothing but the same for Lloyd.

    To wit (published camp report):

Hey, I don't know about you but I think it was great to see that Moore is still in position to make plays. He got beaten but probably anybody would have been beaten.

From everything I've seen of Lloyd the past few years, he's semi-fast but a freak-show vacuum cleaner. He must have hands of steel.

I was there today.....and I'm going to stand by my statement I made when they signed Lloyd.

"He's the best (all around) receiver Brady has ever had."

I get really good vibes from the Lloyd signing so far. Too early to call special but its getting hard to control the ethusiaasm thus far.

If he keeps this up, Lloyd isn't a threat. He's a reality. :rocker:

Lloyd is more than just a deep threat. He can run all the routes.

One of the things that has been missing from this offense is the 15-20 yard comeback route.

Lloyd is filthy with that route

Maybe his 40 time is uninspired but game speed has to be there because he gets behind guys too often.

At first all I heard was "He's not a true deep threat" but that probably was double speak for, "He can't just run straight past Darelle Revis." I mean who can? But the guy gets behind people like with that double move he put on McCourty the other day. He gets them all twisted into knots and gets past them with smart moves. He's the kind of guy who might have a few years left in him since his foot speed doesn't really contribute to that type of play.

I know that Lloyd's 40 time isn't great, but everytime I've seen him in game, he's looked like one of the fastest guys on the field. There isn't a doubt in my mind that he's significantly faster than his 4.62 combine time. Some players are just like that. Bottom line, there aren't many guys who can lead the league in yardage under any circumstances, let alone with Orton throwing them the ball.

Maybe I'm being unreasonable here, but I'm already drinking the koolaid. I loved this signing the moment it happened; hell, I loved the idea of it ever since Orton got benched in Denver, and it became clear that he was available for trade.

I love the Pats and the organization to death.

But they really messed up not going after Lloyd last year. Not stepping up cost them last years SB. The Giants wouldn't have been able to clog the middle with Lloyd on the outside.

He could have stepped in mid season no problem. He already knew the playbook

    Please.

They came within a blade of astro-turf (and a Gronkle) from winning it all last year. They were in perfect position after going 13-3, and having HFA throughout the playoffs. How much better a setup do you expect?

They faced a team in the SB playing out of its head that won 3 straight ROAD playoff games (among whom the defending SB Champs at 15-1 and a 13-3 team). They lost a nailbiter to that team after being up 8 going into the 4th quarter.

They brought in Andre Carter, Mark Anderson and Brian Waters.

Gimme a break on the FO 'not stepping up and costing them the SB'.

    Thanks for proving my point.

    Lloyd signed = SB win

You said what I've been afraid to day dream out loud.

Randy may have had the foot speed but Lloyd has plenty of game speed (gained by devastating dekes) and tremendous at adjusting to a ball that is off. He goes THROUGH corners to get the ball. He's like Gumby. He's like an amoeba that surrounds the corner and consumes the corner's body to use as his launching pad. He smothers corners with his smarts. The corners have to be like Revis to even have a chance.

Speaking of which I am looking forward to his matchups with Revis because if you keep Revis locked up outside the numbers he can't help with a pesky Welker or Gronkandez. If they put Cromagnon on him then he will consume the half-human.

Has anybody seen him interviewed? He's a very nice kid, very fun to listen to, interesting, open, very funny, a natural comedian. It's hard to imagine him causing diva problems in NE.

Not only that but they got A LOT of fortunate bounces of the ball. They won the NFCCG via fumble and then won the SB via recovered self fumbles.

That's when you know something is destined to happen. Three fumbles that all go back to your guys? Crazy. That just doesn't happen. Crazy.

Plus Bill O'Brien, not ("The Lloyd Whisperer") Josh McDaniels was the OC last year.

The dynamic was right THIS year to bring him in.

Wow, that sounds like fantasy football league-speak.

So would getting Mike Wallace, Adrian Peterson and Ndomakun Suh.

Of course, you would have called it before the season that Gronkowski would get injured in the AFCCG, Manningham would make the SECOND most freakish catch for the Giants in a SB and that the Giants would recover 3 straight lucky fumble bounces.

......and it's all becuse the Patriots' FO messed up in not getting Brandon Lloyd last year.

    Holy hyperbowl

The Pats were in deep need of an outside WR last year. The Pats offense was due to run into a defense that was smart enough to play short zone on all their little route offense

Remind me again what it cost the Rams to get Lloyd last year? What was it? Oh yea.....a conditional 6th rounder. WTF

    The Pats ****ed up.

It's O.K to criticize the team ya know.....Kraft isn't going to ban you from buying more Patriot feet P.J's
