You should have at quoted this little nugget...

"Roughly 117,000 Americans double-dipped by cashing unemployment and Social Security disability checks during the height of the jobs crisis, costing taxpayers a combined $856 million in fiscal 2010 according to a government watchdog agency. The additional strain on the system will make the SSDI trust fund insolvent in four short years. With most eyes fixed on the election battle between President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney, it was easy to miss the alarming report by the Government Accountability Office that was initially released this summer."

Shouldn't we try to get the money back from them?

I wonder if this requires changes in the law. After all, aren't unemployment statutes state and SSDI federal? Also, I'm pretty sure with SSDI you are allowed to earn a limited amount of money, so a disabled person could become unemployed. Certainly, a person who applies for both SSDI and unemployment at roughly the same time should not be eligible for both, in my opinion.

I feel that way about Rmoney and Wall Street. At least government corruption is more easily exposed.

The blame for all of society's ills, the poor and disabled.. when is the last time a major defense contract came in on time, underbudget and there was no mention of fraud???

If I had the energy would be able to show that this has been going on for about 30 years and is not unique to any recent administration...

    I have a question about double-dipping

Should you be able to collect military disability and unemployment at the same time?

Not if one is "unemployed" because they can no longer serve in the military.

What about people on disability who can work part-time? Are they allowed to collect unemployment? Is that who you oppose? Disabled people who try to better their lives by working to the extent they are able (and allowed)?

    "who I OPPOSE?"

I don't "oppose" anyone. I oppose policy and people who take/get more than our laws specify... anyone receiving in excess of what our laws stipulate owe us the money back.

    Who do you "Oppose"?

so what......just as little is done about it, which makes it even worse.

at least wall st. and the public sector is at the hand of dollars voluntarily placed. liberal government requires us to pay for their corruption.

Just like the government forces us to pay for the fraud, cost overruns and silliness of the Defense Industry..

sure.......but at least with defense, you get something in return, even though you likely overpaid for it...there are actual blue collar and white collar people out there working at these defense companies, getting salaries and paying taxes........with handouts? nothing
