    He's still influential obviously. I honestly don't get it, he bores me to tears. I don't think I've ever listened to more than 5 minutes of his show. I can't do it. But hey, if you can get it, take it.

    Pretty impressive. With this new contract, he will make almost half as much as Howard Stern per year. I listen to Rush more than I listen to Howard.

    I'm still waiting for you to man up and apologize for lying about me the other day, but that hasn't happened either.

    You took the words right out of my post. I feel the same way. I sometimes hit his show when everything else is on commercial. Five mins max. He's a partisan tool.

    Once again, absolutely no knowledge of how economics works.

    First off, do you have any idea how many people Rush employs? How much he pays in taxes for himself and his employees? Rush's salary will come from ad sales and sindication fees. He is, like it or not, the most listened to person on the radio, and as such, makes alot of money. This is a guy who did not graduate college, actually started as an ad salesman for the KC Royals, and has built himself up into an American icon. It is called the American dream, and should be lauded and not called "absurd".

    once again you arrogance is your downfall, but i'll overlook that.

    I do know how economics work. The little man pays for all of these salaries one way or another. If Rush is getting this much money imagine how much money the owners are making.

    It is like Lebron James. He gets a huge contract by Nike. but Nike has factories in Indonesia where workers have no rights, are forced to work 18 hr days, payed dollars for the work day. But I guess Lebron is living the American Dream which I guess is exploiting people but he supposedly "made it".

    So Rush will get his money, sure he is listened to, and sure he employs people but his revenue dollars come from advertising which come from companies who sell and where do they get that money? they pass it onto the consumer one way or another. Is it capitalism? Sure. and capitalism is great, but at what cost? Capitalism will always expolit other countries and essentially force workers to submit to low wages, long hrs.. but what is the difference between that and slave labor?

    So I say again for Rush to get paid $400 million for talking is absurd. Completely abusrd. When he does something beneficial to society like cure cancer or find an alternative source of energy then write me.

    They call it absurd because he isn't "one of them", Al Franken said a couple of years ago, I'll kick both their a$ses (O'Reilly/Limbaugh) we all saw where that one went.

    If it were Franken that was about to recieve $4 million, the left wing would be declaring a national holiday for him and having a Parade down Sunset Blvd.

    Limbaugh could never have done it in the Castro/Chavez world, God Bless The United States Of America And All For Which It Stands.

    How much does that f-cking bellowing insane boob Al Gore get for making a speech about

    Putting it in "economic" perspective, FTW:

    Limbaugh = Howard Stern x .5

    Would you like it from a different equation? OK:

    Howard Stern = 2 x Rush Limbaugh

    On the other hand, I would guess collectively liberal authors do better than conservative ones and major liberal newspapers are more common than conservatives ones. It's sort of well known that many conservatives have a lot of disdain for scholars and academia, but I guess they like pundits who bark at them. I guess liberals like to read, while conservatives like to listen. The interesting thing about that is that people tend to read about twice as fast as a person talks, meaning that liberals take in twice the information and, quite obviously, reach more intelligent conclusions. ;)

    Rush's deal averages out to $50 million a year.

    *That's 2.5 movies for Will Smith, Tom Cruise, George Clooney, etc. per year.

    And less than... (6-6/07 figures)

    * The $88 million the Strolling Bones made.
    * The $83 million for Jay-Z
    * The $72 million for Madonna
    * The $67 million for BB's Bon Jovi. (wow, they so suck too)
    * The "I'm broke even though I made" $53 million Elton John.

    Who else?

    * Tiger Woods makes $127 million per.
    * Lebron James makes $40 million per.
    * Michael Shumaker makes $80 million per.
    * Phill Mickelson makes $62 million per. (WHAT!?!)
    * David Beckham makes $42 million per.

    And Celebrities like...

    * J.K. Rowling $300 million (who?)
    * Oprah Winfrey $275 million.
    * 50 Cent $150 million, or 300 million 50 Cent. :D
    * Jerry Bruckheimer $145 million (Who?)
    * Steven Spielberg $130 million
    * Tyler Perry $125 million
    * The Police $115 million. (wow is that a lot of details & overtime)
    * Jerry Seinfeld $85 million (he hasn't been on TV in years)
    * Beyonce Knowles $80 million (that's a lot of booty - argh, pun intended)
    * Simon Cowell $72 million :eek:

    And lastly, the one that absolutely boggles the mind...

    * Judge Judy Sheindlin $45 million. [IMG]

    He also avoided the draft because of a pilonidal cyst, has been married twice and has had addiction issuess... yet he has become a standard bearer for sending our men and women to war even though he played games and a moral icon for his viewers. He is what he is a very good entertainer, with a right wing message.

    I had a pilonidal cyst and the subsequent operation, resulting in a very bad infection.. it would not have kept me from the war.. I suspect he is also a favorite son, see George Bush..

    Deifying Rush Limbaugh is absurd..

    Why is it absurd? And why is it up to you? Provide some proof he's a "fortunate son"...or did you read that at the Daily Kos?
