Limbaugh ‘leaving the country’ if health reform passes | Raw Story

Possibly the funniest thing I've read in a long time....

I dont even know where to start with this comment of stupidity.

    =========================================================
"telling his audience he will move to Costa Rica if health care reform becomes law. And now the only question that remains is whether Limbaugh will make good on his word, or join the ranks of the empty-promisers.

"If the health care bill passes, where would you go for health care yourself?" a caller asked Limbaugh on his radio show Tuesday."

"I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica,"

    =========================================================

Can we start with his viagra trips to said island? Or his last hospital visit in a place with socialized medicine? Or his 'Patriotism' during the bush years, and saing anything about the presz in a time of war being anti-american?

Psst...RUSH.....dont tell anyone, but....COSTA RICA HAS UNIVERSAL SOCIALIZED MEDICAL CARE!!!!!!!!

    moron.

Alec Baldwin did the same thing, he said he was moving to France if Bush was elected, Bush was elected twice but Baldwin never left, neither will Limbaugh..........

I agree that he will not leave, but to make the claim that if HEALTHCARE passes, he will go to a place that has social medicine is REDICULOUS.

That slike saying if Bush was re-elected Alec Baldwin would like to move to a country that is ruled by a clone of Dick Cheney instead.

One more reason to hope health care passes - and passes soon.

He'll like it in Costra Rico.....he might even get a physician who speaks English. And, lucky for him, they even treat immigrants like himself like natural citizens.

Costa Rica has universal health care, one of the best health systems in Latin America. As always with nationalized health care, expect red tape and long waits, but the quality of Costa Rica's health care is excellent. Private health care is also available, very affordable, and high quality. Many doctors speak English and have received training in Europe, Canada, or the U.S.

With a government-sponsored network of more than 30 hospitals and more than 250 clinics throughout the country, the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) has primary responsibility for providing low-cost health care services to the Costa Rican populace. Although sometimes overburdened, this system has worked well for Costa Ricans for the past 60 or so years. Open not just to Costa Rican residents, the CCSS provides affordable medical service to any foreign resident or visitor.

I'm thinking here.....if Rush wants to leave the country to protest affordable health care being made available for all it's only natural that he'd want to escape to a county which does not do so, right?

Can anyone name a place for Rush where he'd find current American-style health care that's totally free of government involvement?

3rd world countries are acceptable answers.

I don't think many 3rd world countries have the same type of health care system we have. For some reason, you see this as a bad thing.

I merely allowed them as an option because non-third-world countries without some sort of nationalized health care (and, of course, as per Rush himself, their obligatory "death panels," substandard care and long waiting lists) are virtually nil.

I can't think of anywhere he can run to (other than a third world country) that does not have the same sort of health care he'll be running away from.

What kind of an "escape" is that????

I'm not sure he's saying he'll leave the country if the bill passes. I think he's saying he would leave the country, and go to Costa Rica for care, if it passes. Regardless, it's a ridiculous comment. He's a dope though, so what else is new. He sounds like Alec Baldwin and his then wife (hot blonde who's name escapes me at the moment), who said they'd move out of the US if Bush got re-elected. You know niether is going to leave. Either way, I don't pay attention to much of what he says.

BTW, the bill isn't going to pass, so Rush has nothing to worry about.

RW is right, the bill isn't going to pass, Limbaugh knows this that's why he said it, Obama just can't get it through his thick skull that people DO NOT WANT HIS BILL as it now stands, his arrogance is actually comical.

    I'VE GOT IT!!!

He can move to Somalia!!! It's everything he wants.....very little government interference, in fact, very little government at all - no silly gun control laws - very little immigration, almost no one tries to move there. No national health care plan at all - medical care is just what it should be - available only to thos who can afford it.

YAY!! We've finally found a place where Glen will be sooooo happy!!!

This is the sort of story that makes me frightened at just how horrible the media really is. He clearly said that he would go to Costa Rica for treatement. Ignoring the fact that I don't think he was being serious, it is being reported in (so-called) mainstream sources that he vowed to move to Costa Rica.

It just makes me wonder what else they completely botch up in their reports on a regular basis.

Costa Rica has very lenient laws regarding oxycontin and viagra:D:D:D

Limbaugh also said if Obama was elected and if Sotamayer was confirmed it would mean the demise of the republican party

Why the right deifies this "left coast wife swapper" is beyond me...

With all due respect, given your propensity for misquoting the guy, I would have to see the exact quote (and context, please) before buying this.
Aside from the fact that he pisses off all the right people, there are plenty of reasons to like him. He loves America, praises the military and believes in free markets - which is exactly why the left hates him so much.

Imagine where we would be without the Limbaugh's, Fox, Internet and Bloggers, we would all be sitting like dummy clones listening to Katie, Rather, PBS and Brokaw spin and twist the news into a bunch of "Left Wing Liberal Bullsh!t"

    God Bless America
    God Bless Freedom Of Speech

"so long dan rather, good riddance"

No rush. I look forward to seeing you give us the exact context when you are in a better position to do so and on a home PC.
You haven't said a single thing to counter anything I've said. All you've done is repeat yourself.
