Like I said, I had to laugh at Pats fans with the nerve to moan about calls they claim the Colts and Steelers got (ESPECIALLY Super Bowl XL) because NO team has benefitted from ref charity like New England.
You all laughed and challenged me to give proof -- well there it was Sunday, in the form of the MOST OBVIOUS NON-CALL IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL.
Though I shouldn't even have to name it (being so obvious) let's just say what Vrabel got away with in full view of the refs is BEYOND ridiculous.
Some of you more honest types have even admitted Vrabel should've been nailed for tripping, but shrugged it off as "oh well that's the way it goes." Funny you didn't take that attitude with other teams -- no this place was a madhouse of moaning and indignation after certain games involving OTHER teams (ESPECIALLY Super Bowl XL). Well, boys and girls, nothing that happened in those games even comes CLOSE to the Vrabel non-call. C'mon where's all the righteous indignation and concern for the integrity of the game now? (Oh right, this time your guys benefitted, so none of that stuff really matters.)
Instead of San Diego getting an automatic first down and driving, the Pats (wrongly) get the ball on a pick and then score -- this is the single BIGGEST play of the game, and it was BOGUS. No way Vrabel should've gotten away with that kind of garbage. And I repeat, this was the single BIGGEST determination of who won this game. At the very least, that's 7 off the board for New England, and probably at least 3 for San Diego. Final score was 21-12; you do the math.
You wanted your proof? You got it. Go ahead and argue -- I dare you.
