So the first article is actually real ? My goodness, I wouldn't expect that is the old USSR let alone today's England.

    I haven't found anything saying it's false.

At this point, take it as one guy witting an article for Wired.com.

Knowing that the UK doesn't share in nearly the right we have, it's far more plausible.

Later in the article, someone is quoted in saying "Too little too late"...

Are these families getting funding from the government to maintain order in their own home? Is the government funding that? I am ok with people getting help when they cant police themselves. It does sort of open Pandoras box.

The UK is following the 1984 playbook better than any country on the planet.

And guess who wants us to be more like the UK?

Edit: Yes the Patriot Act was wrong, but I haven't seen your boy or your congress overturn any of it when they got control, they will just take it to the next level.

The BUSH Administration, for one... which you had zero problem with.
You don't give a sh*t about personal rights, your politics/bias trumps any real values/principles you actually have.

Not progressive liberals, at least in this sense. You know, the people who give money to the ACLU? But keep running the same unthinking smear all over again.

Bullcrap, the ACLU isn't about liberties, it is about a political agenda.

Let's see. American Civil Liberties Union. No, no liberties there. :ugh:

And of course, none of these supreme court victories involve liberties. None.

    EXAMPLE #1

That has nothing to do with "liberties" it is actually anti-liberty.

Any way you slice this case it's about protecting first amendment speech. Obviously the supreme court ruling would apply to rightist messages as well. Are you that blind?
