"• Although liberal families' incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household ($1,600 per year vs. $1,227).

    • Conservatives also donate more time and give more blood.

    • Residents of the states that voted for John Kerry in 2004 gave smaller percentages of their incomes to charity than did residents of states that voted for George Bush.

    • Bush carried 24 of the 25 states where charitable giving was above average.

    • In the 10 reddest states, in which Bush got more than 60 percent majorities, the average percentage of personal income donated to charity was 3.5. Residents of the bluest states, which gave Bush less than 40 percent, donated just 1.9 percent.

    • People who reject the idea that "government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality" give an average of four times more than people who accept that proposition."

    .

As always. Nothing new here. Arbitrary re-distribution of wealth, done by a nameless, soul-less, gray bureaucracy.

    NO, thank you.

    Pathetic...

A curious deduction by one professor at Syracuse, as relayed by goofy George Will in an op-ed. With absolutely no explanation of how his study was conducted, the sample size nor the setting.

    Good work, BF.

Unfortunately for your argument, liberals can play with numbers too.

Well I am sure if you go to Syracuse you could download at least an abstrasct in pdf form. BTW the author was a lib who started out to show how heartless conservatives were and found out the libs were cheapskates, who knew? Well conservatives for 1, but I'm sure YOU donate a lot to charity and donate your time to the commnity right?

Actually, I do. Undoubtedly, a lot more of my time than you, I'm rather certain.

You strike me as someone who gets extremely uncomfortable when an indigent gets within 10 feet of you.

You Con men have most of the money anyway. Newsflash, there aren't many liberal philanthropists. Liberal voters are, generally speaking, struggling to make ends meet. Period.

    You ignorance on full display.:singing:

Tell that to Jay Rockerfeller, George Soros, and John Kerry. Not that they donate much to charity mind you. Such simplistic silly assertations.

John Kerry is a Senator, which shows you really had to struggle to come up with a third.

wow, what a fucking stupid thing to say. I suppose wealth is a barometer of the worth of a human being then.

George Will may be a Conservative but he's not goofy. Liberals are great, they can quote any stupid blog and claim it's contents as fact and anything pro Conservative is automatically trash.

Well, generally, we at least try to provide a story that discusses how the study was conducted, from what demographic, and the sample size. Unlike your hero, George, who provided his readers with a smokescreen, and convenient agenda-driven numbers. Simple, really.

Here, you can buy the book :

    http://www.amazon.com/Who-Really-Cares-Compassionate-Conservatism/dp/0465008216

and judge it's sources for yourself.

I haven't read the book but I have no reason to believe Will just made stuff up that wasn't in it. Check out the bibliography for yourself if you like.

No I just wanted to highlight Lib hypocrites who spend the money of the middle class. I could have mentioned Algore also and a host Herb Kohl, and Laytheberg for example.

You really don't know where you stand on the issue then, do you, forum fraud? Is it that liberal elites don't give, or do give? Try and stay on message, for once.

But you can't list a senator as a "philanthropist" that's just silly and Herb Kohl doesn't really count either. If you go down that road then all the seantors and congressman are a wash.

As Harry Callahan said, a legend in his own mind.

I wish he was half as smart as he thinks he is, but alas....

We know Al Gore doesn't give. No wait, he does give. 0.2% to be precise. He'd give more I'm sure, if it weren't for his electric bill. :D
