Sheriff (wyat earp joe) go get em Joe.

PHOENIX – The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona has launched a two-day, countywide crime and immigration sweep that authorities say will focus on drop houses, drug violators and human smuggling vehicles.

Four hundred deputies and volunteer posse members are taking part in the patrols. The sweep, which began Thursday, is Sheriff Joe Arpaio's 14th since early 2008.

During the sweeps, deputies flood an area of a city — in some cases heavily Latino areas — to seek out traffic violators and arrest other alleged lawbreakers.

Critics say Arpaio's deputies have racially profiled Hispanics. The sheriff says deputies approach people only when they have probable cause to believe people have committed crimes.

Everybody should. Funny how so many people on the right tout "small government" but are blindly obedient to "authority."

I "think" the term "law abiding citizen" implies that we all should be blindly obedient to our laws. After all, isn't that what LAWS are for? :confused2:

Unless some individual in a position of "authority" is breaking the law instead of enforcing them, then we should respect their position.

America doesn't have open borders...never has and never will....THANK GOD!! :D

No matter if you're Irish, Mexican, African or whatever, if you're here ILLEGALLY, you're not welcome.

If the criminals were Swedish, Irish or Eskimo he would go after them as it happens they're not.

Joe Arpaio has about 30 lawsuits pending against him in Federal District Court.. it is just a matter of time, always find it amusing how some folks are excused from breaking the law under some guise.. either you obey the laws when you are elected or not.. if not usually the piper comes calling..

    More situational ethics...

"Blindly obedient" to laws? No, not at all. Sometimes being a good citizen means breaking the law (first ex that comes to mind: any number of law violations during the civil rights movement). And sometimes breaking the law may not make you a good citizen, but it sure doesn't make you a bad one (ex: laws against sodomy that are still on the books in some states an towns).

And authority is different from laws, respect different from blind obedience. A cop or a politician can act in a manner that doesn't violate any laws but also undermines any respect we should have for them.

Agreed re. open borders, though. And that's not just an immigration issue -- I view it much more as a national security issue.

Joseph M. "Joe" Arpaio (born June 14, 1932) is an American law enforcement officer, and the sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona. Arpaio, who promotes himself as "America's Toughest Sheriff,"[1][2] has become controversial for his approach to operating the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. While Maricopa County voters reelected him sheriff in 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 by double-digit margins, as of the beginning of 2010, Arpaio's approval rating has dropped to 39%.[3] Arpaio is also currently under investigation by the FBI, the DOJ, and a federal Grand Jury for abuse of power and civil rights violations.[4]

From 2004 through November 2007, Arpaio was the target of 2,150 lawsuits in U.S. District Court and hundreds more in Maricopa County courts, with more than $50 million in claims being filed,[43] 50 times as many prison-conditions lawsuits as the New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston jail systems combined.[44] Allegations of cruel treatment of inmates as well as living conditions have been cited by Amnesty International in a report issued on the treatment of inmates in Maricopa County facilities

Maybe the puppy was an illegal alien, too, huh?

On July 23, 2004 SWAT served a search warrant looking for "a stockpile of illegal automatic weapons and armor-piercing pistol ammunition" was located inside a suburban home. In the course of serving the warrant, multiple tear gas cartridges were launched into the home. The result of which was the home catching fire. During the fire, SWAT forced the homeowner's 10-month-old pit bull puppy back into the home with a fire extinguisher, causing the dog's death. It was reported that the officers laughed over the incident. Also, the armored personnel carrier used during the assault ran over and damaged a neighbors vehicle when its brakes failed. The informant who had provided the tip had falsified information, the police recovered a 9mm pistol and a shotgun, both weapons are legal to own in the state of Arizona.[56]

I wish we had more like him. Maybe if we did, the country would not be in the mess it is.

ALL Immigrants are illegal.....We wouldn't have a USA if the white man never stole this land from the native americans.

    This guy is an idiot..

And.....Mexicans are slightly more native to America than "Joe".... America is 234 years old. But by some of the posters on this board who fart yankee doodle and cry tears of 'freedom' you'd swear our nation was the oldest on Earth.
