Hope he doesn't get fired for this. Great announcer but, really dumb decision by him.

He blew a .08 and a .09 in two breathalyzer tests. That's almost nothing.

Oh, no. I hope he doesn't get fired. The guy's been the voice of primetime games. If he's calling it, it's usually a big game.

An occasional thread about the actual sport of football every now and then would be nice. Or has this sight has turned into a full on gossip column?

It's the offseason. I don't know what you want, there's not much to talk about, especially post-draft when we get into May and June.

I'm sorry that your thread starting privileges have been taken away. Perhaps you could petition Ian to get them back....

Thank you for your concerns about my well being. I have, in fact, been posting less often lately. With the spring here, I've been extra busy getting the yard and garden ready for the summer, on top of my usual activities (work and the like). It's a tiring time, but a fun and rewarding time, as well.

Again, petition Ian. He's always been a square shooter, from what I've seen. I'm sure he'll give you a second chance with thread starting privileges.

It's a shame supposed smart, famous, rich people don't know how to call a cab. Such a dumb move by Michaels. Everybody makes mistakes, nobody is perfect. I hope his career isn't affected.

Goodell announced a 4 game suspension until he realized that would leave Collingsworth alone in the booth.

I'm excusing it. It's like a couple beers. I practically blow that during my morning commute.

Correct, it is at and minutely above an arbitrarily low limit.

A good defense lawyer will get this thrown out due to the inaccuracies of the machine. But, the point is, never blow, never do field sobriety, even if you think you're ok.

That's too bad. What's the limit in the US? Here in Canada, .08 is legal.

In Pennsylvania, a refusal results in an automatic 1 yr suspension of your license.

SNF has a good crew calling the game.

But God forbid the loudmouths running NBC Sports were to foist that know-nothing Florio (from the rag sheet PFT) on viewers as the 3rd voice. Viewers would tune out in droves or view the game in silence.

Another reason to be glad we don't live overseas. Germany has a ridiculously low limit. So how much does a 190 LB guy have to drink over a couple hours to blow a .08?

You should never drink and drive. In Sweden we have .02 as the limit. I beleive that it's a good limit. It's really easy. If you drink, don't drive. You loose a bit of control over your body so quickly when you drink and that's not a good combination with driving. You don't have to be piss drunk to be unfit to drive. A small beer, sure that's ok. But not more.

They might, but who cares? They will have to prove you were drunk to a jury and will be without their strongest piece of evidence. I don't think they can introduce the fact that you refused to take the breathalyzer.

I'm talking about criminal consequences only. Some states (including Mass) have civil penalties (license suspension) if you refuse the breathalyzer.
