Nice. His presence is needed on special teams and maybe in the nickel LB spot if Hightower/Carpenter/White are injured/suck.
I've always had hopes for Tarpinian as a coverage LB. God knows we need one. He hasn't done much so far, but hopefully he'll step up this time.
Yes, he played well last year before being concussed and placed on IR.
I was just thinking yesterday that the Pats were way overdue for a roster move. The last transaction was October 3rd when they signed Bobby Carpenter. That's probably the longest the Pats have gone without making some type of personnel move in three months.
Its killing them that they can't do the Ventrone roller coaster this year
I think BB realized he had to go cold turkey. Ventroning is an addictive habit.
The trade deadline is in 10 days. I doubt anything will happen, but I do wonder if anyone will be available who might be of use. The Pats turned down a Darius Butler for Pierre Thomas trade 2 years ago, which was a mistake.
WHAT? Ive never known this. :bricks:
Champ Bailey for Kyle Arrington straight up
to maintain positional correctness, shouldn't this be Champ Bailey for JJ Arrington?
The Saints almost traded Pierre Thomas to the Patriots | ProFootballTalk
Pats got greedy and wanted Pierre Thomas and a pick in exchange for Butler. Bad move.
I thought the trade deadline got pushed back a few weeks?
It did. It got pushed back from after week 6 until after week 8.
I'm a dummy. For some reason I forgot which week it was.
Thomas was seriously injured and in the last year of his contract at the time. It looks bad now because it turns out that Butler had no value anyway, but at the time it would have been giving up Butler for a 3-game rental of Thomas.
He would have helped out last year.
So the dream of Carp and Tarp is finally realized.
I wouldn't get to attached. He will likely be cut and resigned to PS once White is healthy. He is here this week to fill the ST need.
