This has the makings of a good Rb combination...

Lets hope it plays out.I'm still a big Corey"Stiffarm"Dillon fan.

I'm witcha, Krug. And if you really need to see Maroney break a couple rushing records, set your Madden game on the easy setting and play the 49ers or something for 16 games.

Since there are so many of these lately, I thought I'd add one of my own.

By week 17, will Maroney be sitting on the bench, phasing in or completely taking over Corey Dillon's starting spot?

LaurencY?

(msg too short....)

Three pages of posts and one mispelled mention of Faulk?

By the end of the season, we'll see Dillon 50%, Mahoney (sic) 25%, Faulk 25%.

I disagree here. Kong's is athleticism personified, and lacks only coaching to play at the elite level. Kong ripped dinosaurs' jaws open. Godzilla lacks the upper body strength to compete at the same level.

I hear there are some serious charecter issues with Kong. There are several stories about him focing himself on several blondes going so far as to pull them out of thier rooms by force. I'm not sure how he is going to work in the locker room.

Godzilla while a beast on the field who plays with an absolute mean streak only has a few public damage records, and those were misunderstandings. Besides he has shown on more then one occasion that despite he lack of arm length, he has great push around stregth. He needs to work on some of the basics, but he did not get much time playing in college since the majority of his time was spent overseas.

I think the "character issue" as regards Kong has been vastly overplayed in the media. There were a few mistaken identity cases, and those under extreme duress, but nothing ever stuck in court. I know, I know, you don't want these things to go that far, but I can't see how Godzilla's attitude toward others' property, ranging from subway cars to Doritos trucks, can be written off as "misunderstandings," while Kong's misdeeds are these demonic rampages. Yes, Kong needs to turn over a new leaf, as regards containing his emotions, but what we've seen of his public behavior is by and large lovesick, not violent. Make no mistake, in Kong's case: 'twas beauty killed the beast.

Sure we'd love every prospect to be a media poster child like Ultraman, but realistically, we'd end up with a bunch of undersized komodo dragon and grizzly bear "smurfs" at every position if we went that way, and in today's NFL you cannot win anything without these kinds of guys in camp.

Just my 2 cents' worth,

One thing that I love about this team is the way the veterans mentor the younger players. Like Flutie did with Cassel, Graham and Fauria with Ben Watson. I hope the same thing happens with Dillon, but I don't think it will. I do think that Maroney will be the number one back by Halloween and Dillion will be a third down or short yardage specialist.
