On the Spazz/Felgah show the other day, MF kept saying the patriots secondary is getting worse under BB and in the Mangini years the secondary was better when Eric Mangini was coaching them. He claimed Ratgini coached up guys like Earthwind Moreland, Hank Poteat etc.

He railed away that the guys are regressing under BB. I think some of this is due to lack of a legit shut down corner, injuries to Wheatley and some poor drafting.

I seem to remember Ty Law was a shut down corner on the team during Rats time here, which makes all the difference in the world

Pees sucked and it's no better now with this young group

Bill needs to get himself a PROVEN DC in 2011...if any are available

Re: Lady Felger:"Pats Secondary Was Better When Mangini Was Coaching Them"

The secondary then was lightyears ahead of where this secondary is now.

A proven DC? Who is more proven than Belichick?

Belichick needs some help,I think it's too much for him and his 'unofficial' coordinators this year are not of great assistance so far.....a predictable offense and the patented 10 yard cushion defense

Mangini was an outstanding secondary coach, then again he had some veteran help. The current NE secondary features one veteran - Sanders - and a bunch of youngsters. It is what it is.

While I agree that our corners are better suited for bump and run coverage, the team transitioned in and out of the "10 yard cushions" during the Jets games and actually let them play some bump and run. The results weren't much different.

Lee Bodden - if he were playing this year and not injured it would be interesting to see him and MCourty at corner while Butler played only in nickel packages

Wait; someone here still listens to Felger?

It is what it is.

I'm waiting to see what happens these next two games before I start to make a judgment. We're only two games into the season. I think a much better assessment will be made after the Ravens game.

Re: Lady Felger:"Pats Secondary Was Better When Mangini Was Coaching Them"

I seem to recall a guy by the name of Rodney something-or-another patrolling the secondary and making up for a lot of mistakes back then...

It's Leigh.

Don't spell it "Lee" again, and you'll be fine.

Felger might be right.

Yep – Nature vs Nurture: You can nurture someone who is shortchanged by the Lord, and dumb as a jackass but don’t expect much in return.

This is earth shattering. Does he mean to say a rookie and a second year player are not playing as well as proven veterans? Felger is a genuis. Obviously it is because of poor coaching

I suspect that Nanny McFelger was having a slow news day and wanted to stir the pot a little more.

Felger is a douche.
