I would think most of other owners probably would feel badly for Kraft for having to deal with 'spygate' garbage for past few month. Seriously, the kind of negative attention and hate Patriots received, I would not wish on my worst enemy.....well may be Manjuda and Jets. :D

On top of that, probably not a good idea to rub one of the most powerful and influential owner of NFL when he probably is very irritated by this subject.

Goodell owes us an apology for the piss poor way this entire situation has been handled. He's a pathetic commissioner. Ranks right up there with Bud Selig IMHO.

They were guilty of breaking a rule. You can't discount that.

Why not? They were held guilty by the Commissioner, with no appeal. That doesn't mean that they were guilty of breaking a rule. They were told that what they'd been doing openly without penalty for almost a decade was somehow wrong for all that time just because Commissioner Clouseau said it was.

They broke the rules. It's that simple. The Jets called on them on it, not Goodell. They deserved a penalty, but not the one they got.

No, they didn't. I don't understand what is so difficult for people to understand about this. There was a rule. It had been 'enforced' in such a way as to allow the Patriots to film openly and without penalty, in the manner that they were eventually penalized for.

There was more than one interpretation of the rule in question, and the Patriots should have gotten clarification from Commissioner Clouseau once the memo was sent out. That would have, perhaps, resulted in all this being avoided.

However, following prior accepted practice when there has been no rule change is NOT breaking the rule. A perfect example of this in an 'on-field' context was the defensive back contact in the years leading up to the famous 'point of emphasis' situation with downfield contact.

Re: Kraft apologizes for illegal filming flap

Polian is not very well liked league wide not just here. he didn't get the nickname NaPolian on sites like ProFootball Talk for nothing. He has gotten into a physical altrication with a Jets official. He uses his position on the Rules Committee to influence rules and the refs to his team's benefits. He acts classlessly in the press box (like rooting for players to be injured) where the rule is no cheering in the press box. There is a lot not to like about Polian.

i do have to say I am glad the Patriots and the NFL are finally taking Walsh head on and trying to bring closure to this whole thing. It is quite clear that Kraft, Belichick, and Goodell have had enough of Walsh, Levy, and Specter trying to drag this out to hold the appearance that they are trying to stop Walsh from speaking about what they have. They are basically daring Walsh to come forward with what he has. It is about time.

I tend to agree. I'm reminded of Dryden's famous quote, "Beware the fury of a patient man".

Why don't you educate youself first, before asking such a question.

Your assignment: Google "Bill, Polian, Bully", then read some of the over 900 links for those words.

Here's more words to remember, courtesy of Lincoln: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool...
