    I hated the series finale until I read this:

    Page 1 | The Sopranos: Definitive Explanation of "The END"

    Scroll down to the I. THE FINAL SCENE IN HOLSTEN’S IN “MADE IN AMERICA”: section.

    Re-watching the finale after reading really helped.

    Ike was a great complex lead character, as was The Butcher. Ike's ex-sister-in-law had the smoldering hots for him. The writers really captured the period well with Cuber and all the goings on. I was surprised at the low ratings. The only character I could not care less what happened to him was the pretty boy son having the affair with The Butcher's wife.

    I'm not much of a TV guy but that show had me hooked. Very disappointed it's done.

    Holy *****...

    Thank you very much for sharing this. As an avid Soprano's fan (I grew up in Youngstown, OH in an Italian family--what else do you need? ;) ) I will admit that I've had some questions regarding what I perceived as a much too complicated series finale that left us wondering.

    Your link is an interesting look at something that I never really thought of. The interview and direct quotes from head writer/producer David Chase pretty much seal the deal, and the ending becomes much clearer. This is obviously what happened.

    This might be just a tad further OT, but what the hell: my parrot loves watching "Sponge Bob Square Pants." I used to dismiss it as just another kids' show but really have been getting into it lately. Now, we watch it together. Best of all is that the Nichelodeon channel shows it all hours of the day, so it doesn't interfere with Pats games. Perhaps if more folks got into Sponge Bob like me, there wouldn't be all this anxiety over shows like "Breaking Wind," or whatever it's called. :eek:

    Learned this morning from my wife who follows Sheldon Cooper of the Big Bang Theory on Twitter( don't ask why). That the last episode of Breaking Bad is named " Felina"

    Fe = Iron
    Li = Lithium
    Na = Sodium

    Blood, Meth and Tears.

    What's Breaking Bad? You guys are talking about it like it's The Sopranos or something.

    Yeah, now go back and watch the final scene and it seems so obvious that you'll feel stupid. At least, I did. And now I love the finale.

    Bryan Cranston also told E! that the finale is "perfect and unapologetic". I honestly can't wait.

    My friend recommended this show after the first ep, way before the bandwagon got full. I never got around to watching it, even though he was the one who turned me on to FNL which is fantastic..but after this thread I couldn't comprehend how anyone on here would think of DVR a pats game and watching a TV show so I finally watched the first episode.

    It was good, pretty good. I will watch episode 2, but there is NO CHANCE IN HELL that I'd miss and or DVR a pats game for this (or any) show.

    Let me know when y'all get back from crazy town.

    I fixed your post for you. Give Breaking Bad a try, it's as addictive as the drug the show revolves around.

    Game of Thrones is pretty good as well, though I wouldn't recommend that one universally.

    However, as I said in another thread, if you - or anyone else - are only going to watch one show, it has to be The Wire.

    Too bad it's completely wrong. Recently(when Gandolfini died) Chase said once and for all TONY DID NOT DIE. And frankly he was always disgusted that people were rooting for his death.
