It really was unfair that one woman got the window and the other did not.

Government funds should be used fairly ... I will write a letter to my buddy

Patrick Kennedy and have him propose the nursing home window fairness act.

I believe that's called survival of the fittest. Darwin first noted in 100 years ago.

I don't think she should go to jail. They should place her under house arrest, with no window. Oops, time served.

I smell a huge lawsuit, as the family raised concerns about the roommate... and she was known to be agressive.

They the nursing home reportedly had asked Barrow twice if she wanted to change her room..she declined twice.

Yes, the 98-year-old will now be able to pass down her genes, whereas the 100-year-old will never breed.

Are you sure we don't need to teach this stuff in schools? :D

I thought this story was pretty funny until the same night it came out and my sister called me and told me that my 86 year old mother's much disliked 95 year old roommate suddenly and unexpectedly dropped dead in their room after eating dinner.

I pray I'm never destined to spend much time in a nursing home. My parents had an old family friend named Dory or Dorie. She played golf, drove and drank scotch until the age of 93 and then died in her sleep as her heart gave out. That's the way I'd like to go....except without the scotch!

Reminds me of the young, thoughtful college student jogging through the park. On a bench he sees an old guy in an overcoat: hunched over, cragged and wrinkled face, some broken teeth, cane in one hand, bread crumbs in the other, feeding the pigeons. He stops for a moment and makes some small talk, then gets to what's on his mind: His own grand-dad in the nursing home.

"He's in bed all day," says the young man. "He doesn't go out, breathe the fresh air, feed the birds... live life. What's your secret?"

The old guy gets a twinkle in his eye and says,

"Well let me see. Every day of my life I drink at least a twelve pack of beer or a fifth of something, I smoke two packs of cigarettes, and if I can possibly manage it, I try to sleep with a woman I met that night."

The kid laughs and says "how old are you anyway?"

    The guy says "34."
