How teams with first-year starters are simplifying offense

Commonalities among the plays called for newbie starters -- rookie or otherwise -- in Dallas, Denver, Philly and NE (x2). Claims that this is deliberate, conscious & smart; in 3 of the 4 cases the team had the same coaches last year with a very experienced QB, and called a very different kind of play mix.

The hook for the article is that the 4 teams have a combined 7-1 record.

What I don't understand is, if it's simplified, why aren't the experienced veteran defense stopping this easily. Isn't that the whole point of more complex offenses?

cuz it still comes down to execution

go back to 1976.......the Pats had a 17 play drive end with a TD.......thing was, all 17 plays were exactly the same play ..... run behind Hannah and Gray........everyone on the field knew where it was going....nobody could stop it

So you're saying they suck. Well that always makes sense.:)

the emphasis was on execution.......whether it's one play or 3 dozen different ones.......it comes down to execution......
