My usual answer to these is chicken soup.

No signing bonus and he can't hurt.
We need arms in camp. If he sucks, cut him before the season starts and cap issues go away.

The worst case scenario is you get a good look at the Jets new starting QB.

(That assumes the worst case is we cut him and the Jets sign him and he becomes their savior. One can say the worst case is we cut him and no one picks him up.)
 
One thing I really like about Peter Lalich is that although he's supposed to have an excellent arm he is very comfortable playing small ball (dink & dunk). It's nice when a QB can be effective in multiple ranges.

OTG, I like reading your posts and your insights (even if this one didnt work out) but that writing style is hard to read and makes it harder to follow your thoughts. FWIW IMHO
