Instead of going for Value i did this mock as for team needs!!

    Round 1

    1. Detroit Lions- Matthew Stafford QB Georgia
Every day that goes by its more likely that the Lions will once again take a QB with their first overall pick.

    2. St. Louis Rams- Jason Smith OT Baylor
They cut Orlando Pace, now they need a replacement. They take the Best offensive tackle on the board. He will make an immediate impact.

    3. Kansas City Chiefs- Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest
This is the safest pick in the draft. Curry is also the best LB in this draft class. He will help this team and will become better after learning from the best Mike Vrabel.

    4. Seattle Seahawks- Eugene Monroe OT Virginia
Theres been a lot of talk about Seattle picking up a QB to take after when Hasselback leaves, but the biggest need is an offensive linemen. So they grab Eugene Monroe that will help keep Hasselback off his back!

    5. Cleveland Browns- Brian Orakpo DE/OLB Texas
Cleveland is in desperate need of a Pass Rusher. Willie McGinest will most likely retire or sign with some other team. Orakpo will be their new OLB.

    6. Cincinnati Bengals- B.J. Raji DT Boston College
Bengals need to fix their defensive line. They need a bigger DT that is a dominant run stopper. They grab Raji to plug up the holes in the middle.

    7. Oakland Raiders- Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
Al Davis gets a hard on for fast receivers. He grabs Crabtree to strengthen the WR Depth and could make an immediate impact since Javon Walker is no help.

    8. Jacksonville Jaguars- Andre Smith OT Alabama
Jaguars we a complete tune up of the offensive line. They dont give Garrad time and they cant open up holes for Jones-Drew they grab the best OT on the board.

    9. Green Bay Packers- Aaron Maybin DE/OLB Penn State
Green Bay transitioning to the 3-4 Defense they need a big DT, but the most logical DT is off the board so they grab Aaron Maybin to help their pass rush.

    10. San Francisco 49ers- Mark Sanchez QB USC
The Niners need alot of help at QB. Everyone questions their current QB's. Mark Sanchez will bring competition and could possibly be the starter early next season.

    11. Buffalo Bills- Tyson Jackson DE LSU
Buffalo needs to bolster the D-line. They start with a Pass rusher since schrobel isnt getting any younger.

    12. Denver Broncos- Rey Maualuga LB USC
The broncos have 2 options here. build a stronger defense or take the Shanahan route. McDaniels takes the high road and fixes their defense. Rey could play both inside and outside and is ideal for a 3-4 defense.

    13. Washington Redskins- Everette Brown DE Florida State
Continuing to build the defensive line. They grab Brown that can help with Pass Rush after cutting Jason Taylor.

    14. New Orleans Saints- Chris Wells RB Ohio State
New Orleans takes Wells to compliment Bush. Bush is the elusive back and Wells is a run down your throat type of guy. This is the best fit for Wells.

    15. Houston Texans- Malcolm Jenkins CB/S Ohio State
The Texans biggest problem is their secondary. They start building with the best CB on the board.

    16. San Diego Chargers- Michael Johnson DE Georgia Tech
Chargers need to upgrade their defensive line. They start by replacing Igor Olshansky.

    17. New York Jest- Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri
Jest could grab a QB here, but after losing Coles to the Bengals. The Jest need to replace him. So they grab the next best WR on the board. Maclin can play outside and inside.

    18. Denver Broncos- Josh Freeman QB Kansas State
Broncos may have Orton, but with the second of their first round picks they grab Freeman to develop to be their franchise QB of the future. If a QB isnt taken here then possibly another defensive player.

    19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Peria Jerry DT Ole Miss
I originally had Josh Freeman here, but since the signing of Byron Leftwich i see no reason them grabbing a QB until the later rounds. The Bucs want to get bigger and younger at Defense. They start with a DT that can really get it done.

    20. Detroit Lions- Eben Britton OT Arizona
They got their QB with the first pick and now they have their OT. Theres no point in getting a number 1 QB if you dont have a line that can protect him.

    21. Philadelphia Eagles- Darrius Haywood-Bey WR Maryland
McNabb complains every year how he needs weapons. Reid finally answers his prayers and grabs a WR that can run a 4.3.

    22. Minnesota Vikings- William Beatty OT UCONN
Vikings need to upgrade their offensive line. They take the next best Offensive tackle.

    23. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS- Brian Cushing LB, USC
I know many dont agree with this pick, but I like Cushing, he may be a bit slower than the other USC linebackers, BUT he is the hardest hitter out of all of them. Also, the Patriots need a Pass Rusher. Patriots Pass Rush was on vacation last year.

    24. Atlanta Falcons- Evander Hood DT Missouri
Atlanta's Offensive is set but their Defensive line is very small so they use their first pick to grab Ziggy to upgrade.

    25. Miami Dolphins- Percey Harvin WR Florida
Miami is in need of a deep threat receiver. Tedd Ginn Jr is overrated so i see the Dolphins grabbing the next best WR or they can go with a Pass Rusher to compliment Joey Porter.

    26. Baltimore Ravens- Vontae Davis CB Illinois
Even with the signing of Foxworth and Rolle, The ravens need to add depth to their secondary.

    27. Indianapolis Colts- Kenny Britt WR Rutgers
With the loss of Marvin Harrison, the Colts get Britt to fill in for Harrison.

    28. Philadelphia Eagles- Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia
They grab their WR and now to help carry the load with Westbrook they grab Moreno to add depth and an additional weapon for McNabb.

    29. New York Giants- Hakeem Nicks WR UNC
With the departure of Plaxico Burress. Eli needs another WR to throw to. They grab Nicks that would fit their system perfectly. There are rumors that Braylon Edwards might be traded to the giants.

    30. Tennessee Titans- Fili Maola DT USC
After losing Albert Haynesworth to the Redskins they need to fill that void at DT.

    31. Arizona Cardinals- Clay Matthews LB USC
After watching the superbowl this past season. There was one thing the Cards were lacking and that was pass rush. They fill that need with a great OLB.

    32. Pittsburgh Steelers- Max Unger OC Oregon
The Steelers need a complete new Offensive line. Big Ben is always on his back. They start with the Center and takes the best one on the board.

    Round 2

    1. Detroit Lions- Darius Butler CB UCONN
After losing Leigh Bodden, the Lions revamp their secondary with a great aggressive CB.

    2. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS- James Laurinaitis LB Ohio State
The Patriots got their Pass Rusher, now they need to work on the inside. This is Bruschis last year of his contract so the Patriots grab the next best ILB. (This pick could also be traded for J. Peppers)

    3. St. Louis Rams- Robert Ayers DE Tennessee
For some reason alot of people have a hard on for this guy and is projected to go in the first round. Not me, The Rams take Ayers to work on their defensive Line.

    4. Cleveland Browns- Alphonso Smith CB Wake Forest
Cleveland needs secondary help so they take Smith that will add depth.

    5. Seattle Seahawks- D.J. Moore CB Vanderbilt
Seattle follows the Browns and grab the next best CB on the board.

    6. Cincinnati Bengals- Alex Mack C Cal
Cincinatti needs a complete tune up on the offensive line. They dont want Carson Palmer getting injured again.

    7. Jacksonville Jaguars- Brian Robiskie WR Ohio State
Jacksonville needs to get some playmakers for Garrad to throw to.

    8. Oakland Raiders- Duke Robinson OG Oklahoma
Raiders start to revamp their Oline to protect either Russel or Garcia, whoever wins the starting job.

    9. Green Bay Packers- Ron Brace DT Boston College
Green Bay continues to work on their D-Line and grab the next best 3-4 NT in the draft.

    10. Buffalo Bills- Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma State
The Bills get their TE and at a steal.

    11. San Francisco 49ers- Jamon Merideth OT South Carolina
Offensive Tackles are going fast. The niners take the best OT to protect their new QB.

    12. Miami Dolphins- Sean Smith CB/S Utah
Miami needs to upgrade their secondary if they are going to compete with Moss and Owens.

    13. New York Giants- Donald Brown RB UCONN
With Ward gone they need a RB to help carry the load with Jacobs. They grab a big power runner just as how the Giants like em.

    14. Houston Texans- Patrick Chung S Oregon
houston continues to revamp their secondary. I feel the texans are the sleepers of this years season!

    15. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS- Larry English DE/OLB Northern Illionois
He can play with his hand on the ground or standing up. The Patriots add another Pass Rusher to their newly defensive arsenal!

    16. Denver Broncos- Clint Simtin LB Virginia
The Broncos continue to create their new 3-4 defense. Clint could play outside and inside.

    17. Chicago Bears- Louis Murphy WR Florida
Chicago has their Whiny QB and help their Oline with Pace. They grab a weapon for whiny baby!!

    18. Cleveland Browns- William Moore, S Missouri
Browns take the next best safety and continue to revamp their secondary.

    19. Dallas Cowboys- Louis Delmas S Western Michigan
Cowboys need serious help in the secondary. They grab a safety to keep their defense in check.

    20. New York Jest- Jared Cook TE South Carolina
With the departure of Chris Baker the Jest take the next best TE in the draft.

    21. Philadelphia Eagles- Eric Wood C/OG Louisville
Eagles gave McNabb his weapons now they work on protecting him and opening holes for westbrook and Moreno.

    22. Minnesota Vikings- Patrick Turner WR USC
Turner, projected to go late in the 2nd round gets added to the vikings roster. Vikings need to add depth to their offense.

    23. Atlanta Falcons- Cornelius Ingram TE Florida
Falcons add a TE to help spread the field for Ryan.

    Round 2 Continued

    24. Miami Dolphins- Marcus Freeman LB Ohio State
Dolphins continue to build their LB corp.

    25. Baltimore Ravens- Jairus Byrd CB Oregon
Baltimore continuing to revamp that secondary.

26.NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS- Rashad Johnson S Alabama
Connor Barwin is still on the board, but the Pass Rush need is all set so they choose a Safety to help add depth to the secondary.

    27. Carolina Panthers- Connor Barwin DE/TE/OLB Cincinnati
With or without Julius Peppers they still need to revamp their defense. They take the versatile Barwin.

    28. New York Giants- Phil Loadholt OT Oklahoma
Giants add depth to their Oline.

    29. Indianapolis Colts- Jarron Gilbert DE San Jose State
Indianapolis grabs the next best DE available.

I don't know that we'd necessarily go this way, but I really wouldn't mind these picks too much. At least not as much as some people here will. Anyway, you did a nice job with it, at any rate.

nice work although i dont see us taking 3 LBs in the first two rounds. Build this team inside to outside, I see at least one of those picks being on the OL or the DL

If you are drafting for need, how do you end up with 3 LBs with our first 3 picks. Cushing, Laurinaitis and English with consecutive picks. That doesn't make sense to me at all, disregarding my personal view on the individual picks.

Shoulda went for the fearsome 4some and taken Barwin too! :D

No way Oakland takes Crabtree. As you said Al loves speed and that's the one knock on him. So they either take Maclin, DHB or an OT.

You took 3 stright linebackers? On top of that you take two of the most overrated linebackers for the Pats scheme and then fail to take Barwin with any of the 3 linebacker picks. Sorry, this draft is FAIL. Wouldn't touch Cushing with the supplement/steriod flags and Laurinitis is a 4-3 backer.

I see what your doing. Putting all the arguments over which LB the Pats will take to rest, by having them select...... all of them.

    Sorry,

You're JOKING right? You took steroid/supplement popper cushing and then cite his 'passrush' as your reason? You do realize he only had THREE sacks his senior season, don't you? Not to mention the guy has huge durability issues. You're drafting the 'Maroney' of linebackers in the 1st round??

    2008: 73 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 INT

Severe durability issues. Missed five games in 2005 due to a shoulder separation, three games in 2007 because of a high ankle sprain, and underwent surgery after the 2006 and 2007 spring practices (shoulder and knee, respectfully).

Rumblings Scouting Report: USC LB BrianCushing - Buffalo Rumblings

Laurinitis lacks upper body strength and struggles to shed blocks and disengage. He's much more suited for a 4-3 defense that protects him than the Pats 3-4. He will be swallowed up by OGs and disappear in our system. He has zero blitz/passrushing potential.

Why you draft 3 linebackers in a row is beyond me except perhaps you feared that your first two picks would be outright busts.

Cushing is a viable candidate for the Pats. If the steroid rumors with him are true (and assume that the Pats know), he won't be picked anyway. Assuming that checks out OK, then Cushing would project as a Pats ILB anyway. His pass rush ability (while still important) become less of a focus as an ILB next to Mayo.

As for Cushing's durability, I wouldn't be overly worried about a 4-year-old shoulder separation and high ankle sprains happen to just about everyone at some point in time. As for the spring surgeries, I would need to have context. If they were structural procedures, that would be a serious red flag. If they were simple cleanup, probably no reason for concern. Again, the Pats have all this info.

So concerning the OP, it wouldn't make much sense to take both Cushing and Laurenaitis since they would both play inside and Mayo rarely comes off the field.

Don't be too harsh. Cushing and Laurinaitis aren't my picks, but many consider them good values at 23 and 34, and I can understand taking an OLB and an ILB. Again, I personally don't prefer those players (to put it mildly), but I can respect the thought behind it. After all, people have put up with my binky love for the past 3 months. Three LBs seems a tad excessive though.

I like the mock, good effort. At least with this mock, the LB holes are filled one way or the other.

And Johnson makes plays, see the LSU game for details.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind Rashad Johnson at all, and yes, he did play all out in that game v. LSU

JL has the brains to play for the Pats, but not the size or ability to shed blocks, he will not be drafted here IMO.

Matthews or Sintim could go either way and with AT on board who can do so also, I'd rather snag one or the other. My ideal would be Sintim at #47, and Jarron Gilbert (a trade down of #23 to about #31), and Sean Smith at #34. Followed by an OT at #58.

You don' tknow what they hell you are talking about. Nobody except Alphonso Smith has as many INTs as a DB than Laurianitis has as an ILB. No other ILB has any where near half as many ILB sacks as Lauranitis. You've been listing to Box too much. Its true that Lauranitis does not take on G like Rey, but it is hard to find many other ILbs that take on G any better than Lauraniitis

So that is his "weaknss". He is only "good" at that, not exceptionally rare. whereas he has rare production numbers everywhere else. With his 363 tackles in his career he obviously handled some blockers running at him, shed and tackled, pretty well.

BB likes smart guys and he is also an Academic All_American with rare instincts. Lauranitis would settle into the Pats ILB position; become the captain and call plays, produce stunning game changing plays like the INTs and blitz sacks like Tedy in his prime, and outweigh Tedy by 5-10# in a year or three. He'll play until 36, like Tedy save for a career ending injury.

You're not giving Laurinaitis credit, he does take on Guards like Rey...of course they both pedal backwards like they're on rollerskates. :p
