Washington Times - Obama tax cut 'refunds' those who don't pay

Obama tax cut 'refunds' those who don't pay
    Critics call it 'welfare'

Obama says he will give 95 percent of all American workers a tax cut but does not mention that his plan would send checks to tens of millions of tax filers who pay no personal income taxes - payments that critics say look "suspiciously like welfare."

I want a real source. Like Wildo says he wasn't allowed in college to quote the Washington Times its Rev. Moonbat owned and operated.

How about the Inquirer its at least a step above the WTimes.

    there is a real source.

    He sources "Critics"

That should be just as good as "Some say" or "whispers from the locker room"

and there is even a quote from the post...so it has to be true....

critics say look "suspiciously like welfare."

The government already does this now. I knew this chic ([IMG]), a single mom, who got back more than she paid in taxes, cuz of all the credits she qualified for. It's gross. It's one thing to pay no taxes if you make little to no money, but to get back more than what you pay is disgusting. For example, someone shouldn't make $20k, pay $3k in taxes, and get $6k back. That's gross. That means the person earned $23k, and got $3k more from someone else's hard work.

Already exists believe it is called earned income credit, one time I did taxes for a person who did not make a lot and she had something like $2300 taken out.., but wound up with a $5300 in tax refund..

Guess Marxism is already here. The executive branch is overseen by GWB, ergo George is marxist..

I agree that a person should never get back more than they pay in taxes. It is one thing to try to level the playing field with tax code, but we don't need to actually GIVE people money to achieve that goal.

Why not? The answer is simple, no one deserves to get more money back than they actually paid, plain & simple.

I agree. I think it's gross. I'd be fine with people getting all their earnings back, but not more.

I said it a couple of weeks ago, Americans and our politicians have become wimps. Somehow, we've come under the illusion that we're not supposed to endure hard times anymore...that everything is supposed to always be rosy on the economic scene.

What happened to saving for those rainy days? What happened to Americans "toughing it out"?

I received earned income credit for a few years when i was first married ... the kids were little and my wife was only working part time. I think earned income credit is a very good thing. You need to work to get it ... so it is not born of lazyness. In many cases it's not much but it helps keep people at or just above the poverty line.
