Did Rod Marinelli attend the Matt Millen school of mismanagement?

Lions | Harrington appears to still be on the team; but not with the team
Mon, 20 Mar 2006 09:30:09 -0800

The Associated Press reports although he declined to say whether QB Joey Harrington had been released, Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli told reporters Monday, March 20, "We've made a decision to move on. At this moment, he's not with us,"Marinelli said. "That's been my decision." As noted earlier, the Lions are parting ways with Harrington after four turbulent seasons in Detroit.

"Uhh...I can't tell you if we released him. But he's not on the team..."

It was just a few weeks ago these guys, both Millen and Marinelli were saying they were THE guy, still the future of the franchise... right?

Nice. :)

('Course, that was before Harrington reportedly loafed it and 'sabotaged' Mike Martz's "Quarterback School")

By a show of hands - how many people think the Lions suffered "turbulent" seasons because of Harrington or because of team management so beautifully captured by the above quotes?

Harrington is the one popping the champagne today!

I will be honest. I am glad that the Jets got Ramsey instead of Harrington.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the Vikings picked up Harrington.

I think that Harrington can be a solid QB in this league.
