Junior Seau on Howard Stern now

That's the stupidest argument I've ever heard on this site, and that includes the trolls.

So calling you out for this makes me a hypocrite? right.

And now reading comprehension fails you. Try reading the posts again. I didn't call you a hypocrite for 'calling me out'. I called you a hypocrite for your posts after that. I even quoted them for you.

I like Howard Stern, and I use to listen to him when he was on regualr radio. I didnt think he was so great as to pay and follow him. But i did like him, and do not consider myself a moron. But the best part of his show was his intervieing A list celebs, and if he lost that moving to satellite, than he lost a great part of his show. The other bes part was him talking about current pop culture and political topics.

His stripper and porn star segments are always the worst segments, and from what I hear that is all the show is now. (Does he realize that its radio, and no one can see these chicks, and hearing them is no picnic) I may be wrong if someone who listens to the show can correct me.

Also the show was always good when they had a dynamic of the show being about the show, and all the inter office stuff, but if that has taken over the whole show also, than that is just as bad.

Also if he is converting so many new subscribers, than why the hell is the stock in the toilet, i bought some when he first went over, and the stock started tanking and keeps tanking, thank god i only wet my feet a little, and didnt lose that much. I know its made a little comeback the last few months, but still trades in the low 3s.

Business cant be that good. I mean I never here anyone talk about him anymore, and when he was on regular radio i would go to work, and at least someone would ask me, if I heard what happened on Stern today, that never happens anymore.

As for the "stupidest argument" thing, it's not my fault that people keep lowering the bar.

Nice spin. I guess responding to you calling everyone stupid ^ means I'm the one insulting people:rolleyes:

Do you really have such a poor grasp of the language or is it that you don't actually read posts before responding?

Why is this even an argument? Stearn is a man who parlayed low-brow repetitive humor into millions of dollars. More power to him and it was brilliant of him, but there's no need to pretend that he's done anything to elevate the level of humor in the world. Are people here going to claim that conversations with 'Houston' about her 500 man bang were high marks in American comedy?

No I read your argument, and I actually agree with it. Not very complicated stuff. Someone disagreed with you, and as you always do, you just called their argument "The stupidest argument you've ever heard, and that includes the trolls." It doesn't take a mastery of the English language to realize that you were being a d!ck.

Read his argument, slick. The argument was that because I used the "Houston 500" as an example, I had to be pretending to have listened to Stern. It doesn't get much more stupid than that. As for being anything, again.....

They said it was inaccurate to extrapolate the Houston example over all Stern material. Then you said their argument was stupid. One could only dream of having your debating skills.

He's spent 3 pages avoiding the crux of my point. Don't expect that to change now.

Not true that that is the majority of the show. I agree such stuff isn't the best radio, and I find myself changing the station infrequently. He has a lot of typical stern stuff; shooting the crap with the fans and people in studio, interviewing celebrities, Robin's news. He still of course has the girls, but no more than he did in terrestrial radio.

He is just great uncensored, not for the girly stuff, but just being able to say exactly what is on his mind on any topic. He's matured a great deal since the 80s, otherwise I probably couldn't stomach his show...

Guys, just stop. You are in a d|ck swinging contest and it is clogging bandwidth to discuss important things, like Seau's response to when the last time was that he god laid.

Hmmmm.....

You are not one to speak of 'pretending', since it's clear you're only 'pretending' to have listened to his show.

It's similar to calling Vince Wilfork or Mike Vrabel dirty players. Either consider the entire body of work or don't be surprised when your opinion is considered laughable.

Care to re-think your position? If so, please demonstrate where I claimed either:

A.) to have listened to every single minute of Stern's show throughout its history

or

B.) that the example was the only one I had.

I agree that the stripper/porn star segments are the weakest part, but I don't think they are any more prevalent now than before. I don't generally listen to those, and I listen a lot. He has brought a lot of subscribers to Sirius, but the company is stuck right now in a rut until they can complete the merger with XM. There is a lot of inter-office stuff, spurned on by coverage by the Howard 100 news department. Just my 2 cents, but I find the show better than ever. It also helps that they replay it throughout the day.

You really dont know one thing about me so I won't even address how stupid that last comment was. All I said was that whether someone like Stern meets our arbitrary and ever changing cultural standards for acceptable behavior, you must admit he is very, very clever for doing what he has done and even though he does it with "toilet humor" he does it in a way that is creative and brilliant.

It is not that Stern is stupid, in fact just the opposite is true. It is that he is clever in a way that completely violates our social boundaries- and some people can handle that and see the humor in it, others call it trash. This is really about deviance from cultural values but I think it is foolish to insult the intellects of people who like soimething like that because it really isn't about intelligence.

And no you dont have to be intelligent to earn a doctorate in anything you just have to be hard working and responsible and having some help from mommy and daddy doesn't hurt either.

Absolutely untrue. Spend the 40 bucks for a receiver and find out. The show is funnier than ever.

The stock will jump when the merger is finally approved. As far as business not being good, I believe they had 2 millions subs when he came over, and now they have 8 million. That and the terrestrial radio lobby spending MILLIONS to lobby politicians and kill the merger tells me they are very scared.

So can someone post some audio of the interview?

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to read about a Howard Stern debate on a football board but I’d enjoy listening to the interview.

They had about 800,000 when he switched.

Touche.

The interview is not that great. For the first half Seau sounded asleep, and I predict and Artie Lang's behavior will piss people off when he starts making fun of Seau's real first name (Artie of course is a Giants fan). But it would be nice to have the audio.
