Edelman will produce if he signs anywhere. The 'JAG' and 'china' crowd are deluded.
He's seemingly injured every year, except when he's defending Anquan Boldin better than Marquice Cole, a real CB in 2011's AFCCG.
And while he may not be Wes Welker, he's certainly no JAG either.

No, he's seemingly injured every year. His game totals verify that.

Deus Irae said:69 receptions in 4 seasons. That's just over 17 receptions a year. Sam Aiken caught more than that in 2009, so let's not act as if JE's been anything more than a JAG outside of special teams, because he hasn't.

I would have preferred to have him stay to return punts (rather than see Amendola do it) and backup our slot/short passing option in case Amendola goes down for a few games or more. The cost would not have been much, and he still provides valuable insurance and ST ability. Apparently Bill Belichick does not agree with me and sees those positions and already being taken.
Perhaps because, seemingly every season, the guy shatters like a flower dipped in liquid nitrogen and then banged on the ground?
What? You mean we aren't getting BOTH Edelman and Llyod to come crawling back? There are actually other NFL teams who may be interested in their services on the cheap? I'm shocked I tell you...
I agree that it would good to re-sign Edelman. However, it is Washington who will return kicks and punts as he did last year.
Snark aside, clearly there hasn't been a ton of interest, or they would have already signed large contracts.
FWIW, I'm guessing that one way or the other, Edelman will have signed with somebody by this time next week. I just hope it's the Patriots.

Why wouldn't they let the better PR compete for the job?

I don't want Edelman anywhere but here. I think this guy has lots of upside. I understand Welker and the ego issues back and forth. Don't like it, but I understand it.
I understand Danny Woodhead - guessing he wanted more touches and he wouldn't get that here. Hate to see him go, but I want Vereen to get more touches.
But Edelmen should be cheap to retain and he's worth it, in my opinion.
Also, I don't want Amendola returning punts, anymore than I wanted Welker returning them last year.
if we had an adequate replacement I woulndt really care if Edelman left.
but right now we have JAGs like Jones/Jenkins as our #2 WR
