Stewart is a little too left for me but he's honest. If he has any influence with his audience then maybe they can reflect a bit and see that whats right is right no matter who it's concerning

Hey, I was the one that posted the "oh boy oh boy FOIA email" thread. Also saw the segment, not to mention the newsies going "oh. nothin' much yet..."

I will say that a good deal of her emails were redacted, at least according to one report I saw.

I am kinda confused...i though Jon Stewart (and Steven Colbert) had political satire shows. The shows are for comedy, nothing more.

It's naive to think that popular satire has no influence on the political sphere.

Stewart is off the wall at times. He is honest though. And funny as well.

You are exactly correct. But some people see him as some political figure even though he's not one...go figure.

it might have an effect on casual bystanders, but it has no influence on the the smart people of the world. Taking it any further than good humor and entertainment is just silly IMO

That's actually not true. The Daily Show audience is actually the best informed television audience on national and international affairs. You could argue that perhaps the show naturally appeals to intelligent people (i.e. liberals), or you could argue that it is in and of itself rather informative.

Either way, I guarantee you'll learn more watching the Daily Show than you would most news broadcasts.

You're not saying they're the best informed as a result of watching his show are you? If so then I take it his show doesn't appeal to you:rolleyes:

Did you read what I wrote? Because I don't think I could have stated it any more clearly.

No, we're just getting sick of the elitist superiority complex. That goes for everyone. No one has cornered the market on intelligence and the more you push that notion the more ironic that gets

Well, despite the fact ironic isn't really the way to describe what you're stating, you'll be relieved to know that I was being facetious and that I don't think people of a given political persuasion and more intelligent than those of any other.

OK, sorry then. Use one of these things "" if you think of it. It will help prevent misunderstandings

I know, it was a slow day on the forum and I thought I'd spice up things with a little baiting :)

Sorry for the trollish behavior, heh.
