So we have three Pew studies that superficially rank Fox viewers low on the well-informed list, but in several of the surveys, Fox isn’t the lowest, and other general-interest media outlets -- such as network news shows, network morning shows and even the other cable news networks -- often score similarly low. Meanwhile, particular Fox shows -- such as The O’Reilly Factor and Sean Hannity’s show -- actually score consistently well, occasionally even outpacing Stewart’s own audience.

The best thing about the OP is that it states: The O’Reilly Factor and Sean Hannity’s show -- actually score consistently well, occasionally even outpacing Stewart’s own audience.

So two news shows on a news network occasionally outpace a show on Comedy Central. Take that John Stewart

It stands to reason, doesn't it? Sometimes the things they come up with are far funnier than Stewart's material.....he's limited - he tries to base his shtick in truth.

True, but the apology rings a little hollow because he manages to immediately deflect by changing the subject back to Fox. I like Stewart but he's more transparent a partisan than he realizes some times.

he also pointed out that FOX has yet to fix any of its false statements, or even address them.

Comedy Show gets 1/3 of a fact wrong (according to politifact) it was only 1 of three polls that had stewart's show rated as having misinformed viewers. Conervatives in an UPROAR!

FOX news reports false statements as facts on countless occasions...Conservative tumbleweed mixed with the sound of scickets.

    sounds about right.

Yes that's true, but in the interview with Chris Wallace there were several clips of lies that other networks were guilty of and Stewart replied with (something like), why is up to me to police Diane Sawyer?" Where was the call from Stewart for corrections there? Lies on Fox should be exposed but the same standard needs to be applied to all.

well, you completely missed the point.

He is stating that not only does FOX lie, they do it intentionally, and from the top down. They also claim to represnet "The other side" meaning that there are only two forms of opinions people can have (in the mind of the FOX viewe).

    1. FOX narrative (made up lies)
    2. Everything else

Its the Us against the world mentality. You know who else uses the same scam on unsuspecting slaves? PIMPS.

Its one of Iceberg Slim's rules. Me and you against the WORLD. ( now gimme my money )

so If FOX is the pimp.......who is the Ho?

    He's a comedian.
His show is a comedy show.
    It's on Comedy Central.
Steven Colbert is not a real news analyst, either.
    He's a comedian.
    He's on Comedy Central, too.
Neither one of them has any obligation to police Diane Sawyer.
They pick on FOX because they think FOX is stupid.
FOX thinks Stewart is a news anchor.
    Maybe FOX is stupid.

That point has some validity, but the other networks aren't absent of agendas either and Stewart shouldn't claim innocent bystander status regarding them while being fully engaged regarding Fox.

Lets not forget that Stewart/Colbert also make fun of Democrats and NBC/ABC/CBS/MSNBC/CNN, etc.

Stewart is friends with Anthony Weiner and ripped him a new one. It was Comedy gold.

Probably because Wallace whiffed. Sawyer's statement in that newscast was factually accurate.

I'm just not as sure as those who defend FOX are that the "other side" has an agenda that is as similar to defense of everything that is NON-Fox, as FOX seems to be with defending what they call their side.

    anyway...if you've never seen this documentary....YOU SHOULD

I'm not defending Fox but Stewart is looked to for news by a lot of people(especially the MTV crowds). It's where some people get their news and talking points.

He plays to the young 20 to 30 year old left wingers who have been brainwashed by the left wing entertainment industry, he himself probably doesn't believe half of the left wing sh!t he blabbers about, it's how he makes his living, George Bush was his goose that laid the golden egg, Stewart devoted his life to bashing Bush.

Stewart is a liberal. That's common knowledge. He voted for Kerry and Obama. His slant against Fox shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. Sure he goes after "everybody", just maybe not so equally.

You have to admit that Fox makes it really easy to make fun of them.
