Jets, CB Dyson agree to five-year, $11.5 million deal

The New York Jets beat out two of Andre Dyson's former teams -- the Tennessee Titans and the Seattle Seahawks -- and reached an agreement with the cornerbackl on a five-year, $11.5 million deal, including $3 million in signing and roster bonuses.

Price is a tad high but a decent price for a team severly in need of players...5 years will hurt them as they will need some real cover corners at some point...but it gets them started.

i would love to have had him for about 2 mill per
but five yrs is waaaaay too long

The sad saga of this years FA market is many, many players getting overpaid in years which rules us out almost immediately...I'm okay with it. We needed more FA's this year who just wanted a 1 year contract to get exposure.

uh 2 million per year for a pretty good cb is a helluva value guys.

26 years old at 2 million a year at a modest 3 million signing bonus.. I would call that a steal for the Jets.. Kinda wondering why the pats didn't bring him in..

it might be a 5 year deal but most players never last there entire deal.. Good move on their part..

Great signing for the Jets. $3 million SB for a 26 year old playmaker. Not an overbearing salary for a ball hawk like Dyson. Looks like Mangini has begun to build the Jets in the image of Belichick. It will take a few years, but the tide may be changing, as painful as that sounds.

It actually does not refer to to Lombardi Trophies ;) but a hot redhead will do just fine to make 4.

I should have known....it was in reference to your red golf club covers... :bricks:

I guess I'm the only one here who thinks Dyson sucks.

No, you're not...he may be a "ball hawk," but he hasn't had a good year since 2003, and has never had a great year.

The $? Not bad.
Five years? Insane.

I wonder what he was asking for a 3 year deal
